An Unofficial Hive Gaming blogging challenge

Hey folks, I know for some of us it can be hard to think of topics to blog about.

So, when I saw this I knew I needed to steal it and post it here. Thirty days worth of prompts.

There isn't a prize for this, I just thought it would be fun!

Happy Gaming folks!

I have no idea whether I'll be writing any posts about this, although it might be worth InLEO posts. Just brainstorming here for now.

  1. Super Mario Brothers on NES
  2. This one is difficult. Ratchet the Lombax? Joanna Dark? Link? Chell? Master Chief?
  3. Final Fantasy II, from the PS1 anthology release. Weird experimental mechanics didn't really work out because I made mistakes, but I should revisit it again. Where else do you play a game in which you lose the first fight in that era?
  4. I don't really have any embarrassing favorites. I like to zone out on Minecraft sometimes though, and there are sole older games like Morrowind that really don't hold up to modern sensibilities but I still enjoy a lot.
  5. Do sandbox RPG characters I can customize from the ground up count?
  6. The Adoring Fan.
  7. Adelbert Steiner and Beatrix.
  8. Final Fantasy VI. I said it. I mean it. Fight me.
  9. Final Fantasy VII. You know the scene.
  10. Puzzle, Portal II. Platformer, Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal. Shooter: Halo 2. Kart racing: Crash Team Racing. Should I continue by genre?
  11. PC, especially with emulation options. If I had to choose a console, PS2.
  12. The Stanley Parable
  13. Lords of the Realm II. I beat almost every possible map from the game and the expansion on high difficulty.
  14. I don't tend to use a game wallpaper. I probably haven't since shortly after Skyrim came out.
  15. Probably Minecraft or a Fallout title if I ever expand this, although I have some indie games in my Steam library to try.
  16. Just on the sheer programming capability for the hardware generation? Final Fantasy XII. Pure style? Borderlands 2.
  17. CAPTAIN QUARK! Oops. Spoiler alert, if you haven't played the original trilogy.
  18. Gordon Freeman. Might also be a good answer for question 2, now that I think of it.
  19. My games are rarely places I would want to inhabit, so this will take some thought.
  20. Western action RPG
  21. Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath
  22. Borderlands 3
  23. Limbo
  24. how far back still counts as "classic?" 8-bit? 16? 32? 64?
  25. Encased
  26. Portal 2, no question.
  27. The final poss fight conclusion of Portal 2, again, no question.
  28. Bungie? One-dimensional. Bethesda? Buggy. Insomniac? In a rut. Oh. Square Enix. There we go.
  29. X-COM
  30. No idea.
