WEDNESDAY WALK: NATURE AND NEIGHBORHOOD

‎Another beautiful day for a Wednesday walk, I'm beginning to love capturing moments whenever I go out and spot a beautiful place, taking pictures helps me appreciate the scenery even more.

‎My sister and I went on an errand for my pastor, who wants to start a new branch in another location. While scouting for a hall, we admired the clouds and trees, inviting even busy hustlers to take a stroll. However, the scorching sun was intense, and I felt my skin burning, the northern sun is definitely hotter than the eastern sun.

‎As we walked down the road, we turned onto a street that was eerily quiet, even during the day. I couldn't see anyone walking, which struck me as unusual. Then, I realized it was a GRA (Government Reserved Area), where affluent individuals reside. The quietness was expected, but I doubt I'd thrive here, I'd get bored without activity.

‎I spotted a big school and it instantly reminded me of my childhood summer lessons. The building's design looks exactly to the one I attended, which housed students from creche to secondary school. But this school, however, seems to cater to younger students, from creche to kindergarten. I wonder if they have a separate high school branch elsewhere and their fees are likely to be steep.

‎When we arrived at the venue, I spotted some adorable flowers, pardon me I'm not sure what they're called, but they added a lovely touch. The owner had used them to beautify the front of the building. Inside, the hall was impressive, and the compound was huge, providing ample space for events. The atmosphere felt warm and peaceful, perfect for relaxing with family or friends.

‎As the security guard was led us to the hall, I noticed a man arranging a garden and mistook it for a dinner setup. I asked him if they were hosting a dinner party, given the decorations. He replied that it was actually a wedding. I exclaimed "Wow" it looks like a dinner party" My sister chimed in, explaining that it was a Hausa wedding and the mat in the circle was for the bride and groom. I observed that northern wedding customs differ from Igbos traditions, where we decorate the special area, including the chairs, for the couple. It's fascinating how different cultures create their unique beauty.

‎Its been awhile since I saw a fruit tree, I was wondering if that's just a general name or if it has a specific name. We've always called it "fruit" since childhood, and It's still one of my favorites. You don't just lick outside, you break it open and enjoy the sweet, white plup inside. God's creations are truly amazing, aren't they?

‎As we headed home, my sister suggested stopping to visit her old neighbors and greet them at their former residence. On our way, I spotted beautiful ducks with adorable ducklings. Not wanting to disturb them, I kept a safe distance and took some photos. Later, I saw a rabbit and couldn't resist capturing the moments, it seemed completely carefree, unaware of my presence. That was a sweet moment lol.

‎As my sister finished greetings her old neighbors, we left and I spotted a milky candy that the seller had made themselves. I noticed in the East, most candy are store-bought, whereas here, it seems some vendors make their own. I gave it a try and it was nice. The walk and fresh air also helped clear my mind.

That was a gorgeous walk UcheWuchewoo! The Mallard duck family, do you know which is dad and which is mum? Well Molly Mallard the female is the brown one and Mark Mallard is the colourful male. Quite alot of species have the female as the dull one and the male the attractive one!

So you call all fruit as fruit?

Wow, how did you know which one is male and which one is female? Yeah, it doesn't have a name, we know it as a fruit.
