REFLECTIONS OF LOOKING BACK - MOVING FORWARD -LOH #249

Life doesn't go as planned. Sometimes when we feel like taking a shortcut on the path we want to pursue, because we can't take it anymore, those things we run away from instead of embracing them. I didn't learn all those things, I just carried myself forward without thinking.

I thought life was a bed of roses. You just do as you like without learning from your elders. You don't need to be corrected. I didn't have patience. I used to trust people a lot and tell them my secret. Life started showing me harsh realities when I least expected it. I became confused, lost, I don't know who I am any longer, and felt like giving up. Sometimes, I felt like running away and disappearing.

The worst part was I didn't have a mouth to stand for myself, I was so weak and naive. They treated me like a piece of trash, because I wasn't strong enough. But as time went on, I began to learn my lesson and apply it to my life. I started growing up and found out that life isn't a bed of roses. I learned how to be patient and learn from my elders. I let people use me, to learn from it because I was gaining a lot but not losing. I stop trusting people and telling them my secrets because I found out that if anything happens, they'll use it against you. Even bring you down with it. I stopped running away and stood up for myself. I let go of things that felt like a burden and stepped out of my comfort zone to see what the world had in store for me. Looking back, I realized that I found out that all this made me strong, it's taught me and changed who I am.

I began to move forward, I learned a lot from my past because without those experiences, I wouldn't have grown so much. I wouldn't have stood strong today or become wise. I learned to wait for my turn and not rush life, looking for shortcuts to be successful instead of taking one step at a time. Becoming patient and enduring certain challenges made me stronger. Keeping my secret and plans to myself because I've noticed that after I leave their presence, they use me as the topic of discussion. I let people use me, not because I let them, but because I know I'll achieve a lot of things I wasn't aware of. And it worked for me most of the things I know today are from my past experiences.
