MATURITY: A CHOICE, NOT A CONSEQUENCES OF AGE -LOH CONTEST #258

Age is an obligation, maturity is a choice.

‎Aging is often misunderstood as maturity, but it's actually a physical process that happens to everyone. It's inevitable and automatic, regardless of our desires. Every individuals is born to age and it's something we can't escape whether we like it or not. Age brings physical, mental and physiological changes that depend on individual health.

‎It's ironic that we try so hard to look younger like hitting the gym, eating healthy yet how funny we can't escape aging. I see people on social media saying "Oh my God, you won't believe her age. But let's be real, even if someone looks younger, nature will still take its course. I once saw a woman flaunting her body, saying she looked young, but her face and hair didn't change at all, it told a different story. Honestly, we can't change what nature has in store.

‎Aging is inevitable, something we can't avoid. Every child born will get old, it's a natural process and what we should expect. Everybody will get old, but not necessarily mature.

‎Maturity is a conscious decision that requires responsibility, self-awareness and respect. You can meet someone older who hasn't grown emotionally and still behave like a kid and someone younger who carries wisdom beyond their years. Maturity depends on your choices, whether to grow and learn from your experiences. Some people don't learn from their mistakes and still patterns, while others reflect on their mistakes, learn and grow. Ultimately, personal growth is a choice.

‎Maturity isn't determined by age, it's a choice. Age is just a numerical number. While older individuals may take on more responsibilities, but that doesn't necessarily show they're mature. Maturity revealed through your actions, words and how you treat people around you.

‎As a mature person, you need to be reliable, taking accountability for your actions, make decisions on your own and continually striving to become a better version of yourself. Mature individuals prioritize integrity, build character, gain wisdom, and compassion, leading a meaningful relationship and a fulfilling life.

‎Maturity shows in moment of listening instead of speaking, helping instead of criticizing, knowing when to walk away instead of fighting, knowing when to say no instead of yes all the time and uplifting others instead of bringing them down. How you handle things on your own terms reflects your maturity. Maturity is a lifelong journey, a process of growth through our choices, self- discovery, and attitude towards life. As a mature individuals, we need to take ownership of shaping our own development and recognize that maturity is a reflection of the choices we make and the value we uphold. There's much to learn as we grow and true wisdom is about willing to learn, choosing to respond to challenges with grace and showing up for ourselves and others.

‎Aging doesn't guarantee maturity, it's not about the number of years you've lived, but about the depth of character and wisdom you've gained along the way.

What you say is very wise: Maturity isn't determined by age; it's a choice. Age is just a number. We older people are learning to manage on our own, to be independent of our children; these are learned cycles.
Hugs.

That’s fact! Maturity isn’t a gift. It is earned. It comes with the choices we make and the way we deal with the consequences of every choice we made. Age doesn’t matter when you aren’t mature enough to hold it.

Well said. It's surprising how some young people are actually so matured than some grown-ups. Age and maturity are two different things.

Yes, I agree. Infact, your words are my thoughts exactly. Maturity isn't really a quality we acquire at a certain age. It varies depending on certain choices we make.

Lovely read, dear. Thanks for sharing.

We age alright but how mature we are is up to us! Aging can sneak up on us and yet we can get more immature as we age lol!
