LIFE LESSONS AND EMPOWERING WORDS

‎Many of us have big aspirations and dreams, but often life doesn't go as planned. Sometimes, our plans falter because we prioritize other's opinions over our own. Some people may feel threatening by others success, but don't let that hold you back. Keep reading and you'll understand where I'm coming from.

‎Yesterday, while we were in the parlor watching pastor Paul Enenche preaching, he said something that caught my attention 'Why you're still where you are is because you let people limit you to their own level'. He emphasized that not everyone wants you to surpass them, even if they celebrate your successes.

‎He said a lot of things that resonated with me, remaining of my own experience while when learning skills from a woman who owned a shop. Initially, I was eager to learn and would do task for her in exchange for her guidance. As I honed my sewing skills and started attracting customers with my creative designs, I noticed in her demeanor. she became possessive and restrictive, eventually forbidding me from using her machines to sew clothes for clients. What shocked me was when I expressed interest in making a jumpsuit, she claimed she didn't know how to make one and instead assigned the task to a newer colleague. It was a striking moment of realization.

‎Honestly, some people want you to progress, but not beyond their own level. They might offer advice that seems helpful but is actually designed to hold you back. They'll list reasons why your goals are unrealistic, trying to bring you down to their level.

‎ what do you gain from envying others ? is it fear of being left behind or insecurity about someone else's success? Those who envy you often can't bear the thought of your elevation. It's essential to surround yourself with people who uplift and support you, not those who wish for your down fall or criticize instead of encourage. Some individuals, even family members, might harbor negativity towards your success.

‎Learn to keep your words in check. if you're prone to speaking your mind, it's wise to learn discretion. Not everything need to be shared. Learn to zip your lips. Sometimes, speaking about your plans can lead to their downfall. Keep secret and be mindful of your audience. Not everyone is rooting for your success or happy about your progress. Some might even be resentful of the blessings and opportunities you've received.

‎We often sabotage our own success with our mouth. Announcing our plans can sometimes invite unwanted negativity, as some people might become more interested in proving themselves than celebrating our achievements.

‎Surrounding yourself with negative people, can fill your life with negativity, while being around positive individuals, can bring positive energy. However, it's essential to distinguish between those who genuinely support you and those who pretend to. True supporters encourage you both publicly and privately, whereas fake ones might praise you in public but criticize you behind your back. You often discover someone's true nature when you're not in the spotlight. Not everyone who smile at you is genuinely happy for you, there's a difference between a real or fake smile.

‎Walk with humility and stay focused on your own path. It's okay to make friends, but be mindful of the company you keep. Not everyone around you has geninue intentions.

‎Not everyone who supports you wants your success for your sake. Be cautious about the people you surround yourself with.

My mother used to say misery loves company.
So when you around negative people it is far too easy to become one yourself. I don't like negativity and will walk away from it even if family or friends.
Getting dragged down to their level. Some people do and pull you down without you even realising it. You lose your mojo, your productivity so yeah it is not good Uchewuchewoo, abeg listen to that pastor in your parlour!

I agree, wonderfully written. I think of everything you’ve said all the time. It can be tiring.

Btw, please next time, include your local time so we know when it is midnight for you.
