INTRODUCTION - OBIFAVVY THE BRAND

Hello, I am obifavvy. I'm new here on hive and of course, the Needlework community. It's nice to meet you. I'm based in Kaduna, Nigeria. I'm a fashion designer and illustrator, I love reading Novels and Manhwa, and I love traveling alot. Recently, I relocated to Kaduna but though, I have been here once when I was five years of age and then I went back to Aba in Abia state, where I stayed and graduated from secondary school.

After secondary school, I didn't know what to do or any skill to learn but little did I know I had a talent in me. Whenever in class during break period I would always draw but didn't really take this talent to heart. When I found out my talent was when one of my cousins - who had paid to go learn sewing and clothing design - said she was not into fashion and designing is not her calling. Something told me to give it a try. I decided to go into fashion and designing not knowing it was my calling.

I began to make research about fashion lifestyles, illustrations plus reading whatever I could get my hands on about fashion and I found myself loving it. I felt something I had never felt before and I soon realized that it was passion. Yes! My passion for fashion started growing day by day after that. Everyday, I take my sketch book to draw. I see myself creating something beautiful everytime. I would praise myself and say something along the lines of, "wow so you had this in you. Where has this been hiding all this time?"

I follow alot of designers online and social media is where I saw four famous designers I admire. I also have a fashion designer I aspire to be like. As a designer, watching how creative they are made me curious about how they started their journey and these designers are (but not limited to) Toyin Lawani, Veekee James, Prudent Gabriel and Tubo. These designers (among others) inspire me alot. Their story gave me a kind of hope and faith that dreams do come true. Even when I felt I wasn't perfect enough (nobody is perfect - I learned that later), my journey, my challenges, the mistakes I make can be corrected and learned from.

In sewing and designing, I sometimes feel like giving up. Make no mistake, I love what I do but there are times that it is literally frustrating and I just feel weak, doubt myself and my abilities to create, but watching and following these designers leaves an impact and encouragement within me. I don't know for others but I always feel this way when I read their stories and watch how they started. I also learn from watching their interviews.

I'm so happy I finally joined hive. I was told about Hive two years ago by my sister. She even sent me the link for me to read about it and learn how to navigate. She saw my passion towards fashion design and told me I can also be sharing my crafts here. I could not join back then because I was not close to her. I was in a whole different state about sixteen hours away.

It is a different story now though. I finally relocated and got reunited with her. I'm so happy to join this community, where I can talk about and post my crafts and learn from others on this Blockchain too. I am not the best of writers, but my sister told me that Hive would change me if I let it, and that I would learn if I am willing. I am willing o!
