DIY ON ROSE FLOWER πΉ|| STEP BY STEP PROCESS ON HOW I ACHIEVED A BEAUTIFUL ROSE FLOWER WITH A SATIN FABRIC.
Hi friends and fashion lovers! Hope you're all doing well. I'm excited to make my second post and share my skills with you all.Today, I'm making a rose flower I'd love to share with you all here on hive and in the Needlework community. Let's get started!!!
I made a rose flower with stain fabric. I bought this fabric last year to make a dress, and after using it, I had some leftover fabric in my bag. Anyway, I was looking for something to create and post about, and then I remembered the fabric. I thought of making use of the fabric again. Although the fabric wasn't that much, it will be enough for what I want to make. Let's get to business.
MATERIAL USED:
- Satin fabric.
- Creamy organza.
- We'll be needing our scissors, thread, machine needle and tape.
HOW I ACHIEVED THIS BEAUTIFUL ROSE FLOWER
METHOD:
I used one yard of satin and one yard of organza.
I spread the fabric on the floor because I prefer cutting on the floor rather than on a table; it's more comfortable for me. I used a small plate to achieve a circle shape, because I wanted the rose not too big. But you can make your own choice on how big or small you want it to be.
I placed the plate on the fabric and used my pen to trace a circle shape. I had to cut one more because I needed one for the lining. I went over to my machine to sew the two fabric pieces together. And here's the outcome of my circle shape.
When I was done sewing, I moved on to iron the fabric, giving it a good press to make the circle shape stand out .
After ironing, I measured half an inch and used my pen to draw a spiral line. This helped me follow step by step while sewing the rose onto the fabric, without making a mistake.
I'm done with the satin fabric. Next, I moved on to my organza which I used for the rose. I measured 8 Inches in 3 places and then closed up the hemline. I had no time to weave it and I don't have a weaving machine yet, I folded it up instead.
When I was done closing up the hemline, I gathered the organza by folding it in a way that created gathers.( Note: organza can be very slippery, if you can use it very well it won't be a problem). I created gathers to sew along the spiral line I traced on the satin fabric, all the way to the end.
And guys, this was our final outcome of this rose flower.
Look how beautiful and lovely it turned out. I sewed it on a corset top, but that's a tutorial for another day. The corset top is one I made for my sister for church.
Thanks for reading! Have a lovely night, kisses π
