B /. Battle Style In the Arena

When I found in the ruleset proposed for a battle the only magic units in the arena is present, my first choice for summoner is Lorkus.
I have to remind the Splinters that in Modern format the strategies to stop magic attacks are different compared to Wild format.

Lorkus can boost magic attacks and bring together in the arena Fire and Death warriors.

I do not hesitate to play with Corrupted healer and magic reflect warriors in the arena. Life leech is also a valuable tool to add my line up to secure the defensive measure in this combination.

The opponent could not survive these successions of strike directed to the health point of the opposite cards.
Tofu was not prepared to defend his comrade against my legendary setup of magic fighters.

I am sure that it possible to break this formation in Diamond or Champion League but if you are still ranking up from Silver League it is the best unit to win all your battles.

C /. Advice for newer players

On the second phase of this presentation, you will see the difficulty generated by the melee only warriors in the arena. Your collection of cards will present some weakness either on defense or attack selection. Do not worry about the first losses in the arena. I propose that you consider level up the warriors you have identified to hold enough potential to secure your strategies.

D /. The hardest ruleset & Lineup adaptation

The ruleset that causes me to loss so many battles in the Modern Format is the melee only units allowed in the arena.

It is normal that my first choice in the combat selection when melee is involved falls to Pruitt because of the melee boost.

It is a trick because the opponent will most likely bring thorns to the arena. In this condition the lack of armor repair is going to generate a victory on the opposite side.

The Lorkus set up can help with this situation but it will not be as productive than to enhance the Pruitt selection.
The repair ability can be found in water and light element in modern format. I will be expensive to level up the right warrior from scratch to the best level.
Also, I believe that health recover in this combo with Pruitt will definitely change the outcome of a battle with Melee only Ruleset.

E /. Final thoughts

One strong collection to face all the combination of rulesets in Splinterlands takes many cards of various levels.
In the process to solve most of the weak link in your collection you will find alternative methods either in the rental market or delegation of cards.
It is vital to consider adapting your strategies to each League. The level of difficulty rises rapidly as your ranking point accumulate and former powerful warrior many not offer the same performance in Diamond or Champion League.
