TOUGH TIMES MAKE STRONG PEOPLE

Sometimes I wonder how people survive during these times.

Everything is hard, the price of goods and services are increasing every single day. It seems like there is no end in this tunnel, talk more of seeing a ray of light at the end.

The naira to dollar exchange rate is increasing by the day. Inflation eating up the currency.

Sometimes I ask myself, where do we go? To the right where we have nothing left or to the left where people are not doing things that are right.

The government is nothing to write home about. Instead of helping her citizens and making things better, they are spending millions just to change the national anthem.

The country is blessed. No cap. Natural resources, precious stones, oil, good vegetations, good and fertile lands and a beautiful and hard working people as its citizens. However, the mismanagement in the country is driving it slowly and steadily to a point of no return.

It seems like all hope is lost. Corruption has engulfed everywhere as everyone is finding for their pockets alone irrespective of what means they need to take.

Kidnapping and robbery are the order of the day. Every one is doing anything to survive the hardship. Seems like the law is no longer functional. Or maybe it is just used to save the face of the government as anyone who rise up to exercise their right to freedom of speech against the government will be arrested.

People are dying of hunger and many other nutritional disease. They say children are the leaders of tomorrow, but the children are forced to do many disgusting things just to survive.

Billions of naira are used to take care of an ill functioning president.

They waste millions of naira on fuel for cars when the president is going out, and they call it convoy. 5 thousand naira is enough to feed a family of 3 for 2 days.

Prostitution is now the latest business. Everyone wants to survive. Was going home from a stressful day one night and I happen to pass through a hotel. The number of girls I saw lined up was plenty. Little kids who are supposed to be in secondary school. Parents are not to be blamed. No job anywhere.

Honestly, I am proud to be a Nigerian but most times, I question my pride. Would I be able to to brag of my country outside here? Would I even be able to proudly say that I am a Nigerian? The giant of Africa that can not fend for her citizens. The giant that knows only the pocket of the leaders while the followers are left to starve. Instead of helping with the problems at hand, they stress binance officials as the cause of our problems. I'm tired yaknow.

I must say, we Nigerians are strong. Well what do I even expect? Hard times build tough people. We are tougher than rocks yaknow.

I don't even know how I survive during these times. Nobody to give me money. No body to ask me if I have eaten. Nobody to say "I bought you these clothes.. go try them out." Nobody. Just I, myself, and me.

I now understand the sentence "he who doesn't work, let him not eat." Being depressed is like a gift that I don't have. There is no time to be depressed. Always thinking of a way forward. Honestly, I need a break but if I get a break now, what will I be doing when I die? The only way I am serving these times is to be better than my last minute. Every minute is like an opportunity to me. I have to use the opportunity that comes with the next minute to be better than my last minute.

The only thing that keeps me going is the fact that I will bring in children to this world. I don't want my children to pass through what I passed through. Based on this, I have to make things better for them by hustling. Stacking for them to have better lives.

This is my entry for the day 11 julyinleo

While I was reading you I thought you were describing the crisis in my country, I am Venezuelan and like you I love my country, but they have finished with it with the economy, with the purchasing power of Venezuelans, but it only remains for both Nigerians and Venezuelans not to lose hope that this will change someday.

There are many things going on over here. I can't say them all but all we can do is hope for the best.

I guess the problems extends to your side too. Let's just hope that things gets better soon.

Hard times are here in Canada too, the middle class is being wiped out by inflation and taxes inflicted by a ruling political class that is totally out of touch with it's people. Homelessness and crime at levels never seen, the current system is corrupt, flawed and unfixable. Things can't stay peaceful for long when more and more people are getting desperate.

I don't really know how the rich do it. They always find a way to not be affected by inflation and other financial crisis.

The rise of corruption has engulfed many countries, spreading it's tentacles like an octopus hunting for its prey.

We just have to hope. In times like this, all we need to do is to hope and put in works.

Bro there is a problem in this life but it is well.
By God grace we shall live to fulfil our mandate here on earth.
The national anthem that the president change he can not resite it as well we are living in a time now everyone think hope is lost but let me assure us here in this community that there is hope for those that are still alive. I sympathize with those that lost there life through the hardship. Nigeria has become more tough than what we expect should we say is a fake promises by the president when he is contesting or a sudden change from him may the Lord help us to still be alive and make impact
