Story Of How I Was Gifted By The Person I Brought Onboard

Being gifted is one thing we all love and desire. There is a lot of joy attached to unwrapping a gift from a friend or loved one. Sometimes, we may even forget about every other thing, just to pay good attention to the gift we're unwrapping.

Though gifting is an essential part of the society, many people don't actually have somebody to gift them a present. Some people receive gift every now and then, while some receive a gift on an occasional basis, but for some, it's still a dream that has not yet materialized into reality. It's just like they are still living in a genjutsu.

One of the major ways of showing love and care to other people is through gifting. Gifts encompasses mere material things as they hold lots of meaning, and sometimes, emotional attachment to it.

Majorly, when we see gifts flying around is during Christmas, New year and Easter celebration, and even during Valentines day and our birthday. It's quite difficult for people like me, who don't celebrate all these things to get a gift but then, somebody shocked me last year December.

Early last year, I brought two people to hive. I will love to call these people Adam and Paul.

Naturally, when I bring somebody to hive, I don't actually let them be by themselves because from a newbie's perspective, hive is a network of complexities in which independent navigations could land them into a pothole. Due to lack of proper guide, some newbies give up and leave the platform.

Based on this, I do take a lot of my time to guide the people I bring onboard, and also, give them resources as well as the little support I could give, just so that they could grow to the extent of being independent.

So, I had two hive students, Adam and Paul. I first onboarded Adam, and I was teaching him everything he needed to know. I thought him as if he was a student learning physics and chemistry in a class room. We started from the basics such as upvotes and downvotes, and we went deeper to witnesses.

When Adam was still learning the basics of hive, Paul saw it and was interested, so, he asked me to onboard him. I was initially skeptical, but I onboarded him anyways.

Between Adam and Paul, Adam was my favorite hive student. All my focus and attention was focused on Adam as if he was the main character of an anime. Paul received little or no attention from me. I taught him things, but not as much as I taught Adam.

Last December, I was at home resting from a stressful morning shift when a call entered my phone. Lo and behold, it was Paul calling. On the phone, he asked me to send my account number that he wanted to use it for something.

I started questioning him. I asked different questions, because I thought he probably scammed somebody and wanted to implicate me by using my account to receive the money. Honestly, I am against scamming, so, I don't want anything to with money gotten through scams.

He persisted that I send him my account number. He reassured me by saying the money is not gotten through scamming. He was getting annoyed because I was indirectly accusing him of being a scammer when he's not.

It was very unusual for him to ask for my account details, so, the worst came to my mind. Haha.

After much forth and back, I asked him to repeat what he said - "it's not money gotten from scamming." He did and I recorded it to keep as evidence in case something happens.

I sent him my account. Within 5 minutes, I got a credit alert. Not up to a minute later, his call came through. When I got the call, his exact words were:

"My boss, I know that this money is small but please just manage. It's a gift from me to you. I'm gifting you because I really appreciate the fact that you brought me into the hive platform. You didn't only bring me to the platform, but you supported me and taught me, so, I want to say thank you."

At this point, I was speechless. My conscience started eating at me. Why didn't I trust him at first? I asked myself.

I didn't know what to say cause' I didn't expected that type of thing from him. He's the least person I gave attention to, and I didn't teach him much, but then, he showed appreciation.

I was really happy with him and honestly, I appreciated the gift even up till date..

Thank you for reading.
