My Take On The Educational System
It is a well known fact that children are the leaders of the nearest future. The things we input into a child or what we allow then experience today, will most times, turn out to be their behavioral pattern when they grow up
I don't know about other continents and countries, but here in Africa, being educated is a very big accomplishment. For some parents, the greatest accomplishment they could ever have is seeing their children become a graduate.
When I was a kid, i saw a Nollywood movie where two persons were bragging of their certificate. I can not remember the exact thing that happened in the movie, but i know that it was a fight between the two men (not physical but vocal). It got to a point where they started bragging. They were like - "i am a mechanical engineer who are you?" The other man replied with "I am a civil engineer."
Inarguably, as a child, this served as motivation for me to become educated, not because they were bragging with who or what theuy are, but because of the value they had. Guess what? I have grown up to find out that it don't really matter how educated somebody is, or how big they are, but what matters is how responsible they are, and what value they have to become financially free.
From my perspective, life is all about - How much you have, how much money you make, who do you know, where do you work, what value do you add to the society, how are you able to properly take good care of your family, what skills do you have, how experienced are you in making decisions?
The truth of the matter is that, gone are the days when education alone can give somebody a ticket to good living. Gone are the days when salaries could pay bills and there will be change for emergency funds, and to buy houses. In our day and age when everything has become expensive, and tariffs are flying here and there, it is very difficult for graduates to eat three times a day with the job that their certificate got them.
In my country, minimum wage is not enough to properly take care of the transport fare of workers, talk more of giving them the life they desire.
One big flaw i see with the school system is that they teach people how to grow up, get a 9 to 5 job, and then, get paid a pention and die afterwards. School dont teach people real life lessons. Lessons like, how to take care of the depression that hits when your business fails multiple times, how to deal with heartbreak from a loved one, how to actually erect your business, how to be courageous enough to face your employer without having any flaw, How to make money and the list goes on and on.
In my opinion, there should be a big change in the curriculum. Many things need to be added. I think web 3 and asset trading (in general) need to be added to the school curriculum. New skills and other important things that will actually help people face real life problems need to be added to school curriculum, and not just maths and the rest.

With the rapid growth of web3 in our societies, it's only a matter of time before the government considers it a skill to be taught at the academic level. Already, some private bodies hold web3 seminars in universities; hopefully, the government will key in soon.
Hopefully, the government will do something about it, but then, when i look at the current government, i lose all hopes
My dear is to just focus all that hope and energy on our future o
Well scripted.
Salary alone cannot pay all the bills
The world is indeed changing rapidly and we are still in school learning how to read and pass exams instead of how we could do things that we could use in the future to ovecome different challenges and become very good in terms of skils. They are some guys studying computer science in my university and they don't even know how to code yet even some of them that are good at it, had to learn all by themselves through sites like udemy or even youtube which is actually crazy considering the fact that they are paying millions of naira as school fees.
Very true! Schools should teach real-life skills, not just book knowledge.
