Impact Of Socials In Politics
Our technological advancement has made many things to be easier and way much faster than it used to be in the old days. Texting, selling, buying and even politics is being done in an interesting way.
All thanks to social media, many people can put something on their table and be happy. Social media goes beyond that as due to the amount of traffic it has, many big brands and music labels are readily using it to promote themselves. Gone are the days when we need to go down to a store to buy an album. One click brings the desired album to our phones and we can play it over and over again for many years.
Think about it, politics they say is a very dirty game where manipulation, lies, and deceit is the order of the day. One friend turning against another because of a political position. What is in store for them? the money and fame. Thats all they want. welp, i guess.
But anyways, given how easy it is for people to get attracted to the things of social media, it is no surprise that many people with strong political positions are drawn to it. Social media do not only attract people, it makes people addicted to it.
With the amount of daily traffic in each social app, it is no surprise that politicians will want to use this opportunity to reach out to many people out there.
I remember during the last presidential election that was done in my country. One major thing that brought contestants to bright light is social media. Back in the day when social media applications was not as famous as it is, and when AIT, NTA, CNN, Aljazeera and the rest were used to broadcast information, people (mostly youths) were not very much aware of the happenings in the country and the world at large.
Most times, when our parents are watching the news or watching an ongoing political campaign on the news, we tend to look away, prolly because it was really boring. However, now, with the how captivating social media is, when we scroll through and see a political campaign, we will be interested to watch it.
Social media was the primary means of sharing information during the last presidential election in my country. It was through social media that i knew the people that was contesting. Except me, many other people got to know the contestant through social media. They knew the latest happenings and were interested in it because the users of social media will always make a meme out of the flaw of any contestant.
When the current president was still a contestant, many memes and funny videos were made from his speeches which drew the interest of more people to listen to him.
From being boring and tiring to watch, social media made it lively and fun to follow up electoral news and the activities of politicians. It even has details of things that were not posted by some news outlet.
Social media has been of a positive effect in terms of politics. It has helped improved people's interest in political activities. I would not like to change anything about how social media is. I like how it is gradually developing.
Thank you for reading.

Social media indeed changed the game of both politics, politicians and votes as well. We get to know and learn more about every candidate.
true.. its a big game changer
Yes, it can have big impact but it depends on the user.
Definitely. And it also helped spread hatred, lies and deceit in the last general elections. Talk of a real life double-edged sword.
