Ideal Environment
Many people know that they need to maintain good health, but some tend to lack the discipline required in other to promote good health and wellness. Due to lack of knowledge and sometimes, ignorance, people have died from one disease or the other that could be prevented or cured if early diagnosis was made.
Health and wellness is a concept that has been widely spoken about for a very long time. Different people have different definition for health but then, the most important thing is that the need for good health is something that is publicly known by many people, both small and big.
One interesting thing that is worthy of note in the accepted definition of health by the World Health Organization is that "Health is a complete physical, mental and social well being" ~ src. This includes both a persons emotions, their friends, their lifestyle habits and choices, and many more.
Practicing healthy living is not only about eating a balanced diet, avoiding alcohol and other harmful substances. The environment we live in plays a very important role in promoting healthy living.
We all have our different perspective of what a healthy environment is. For some, its cleanliness, while for others, it encompasses a clean place devoid of germs. I am among those that think that a healthy environment encompasses living in a clean house.
Inarguably, living in a clean house and keeping the environment clean is very good as it saves from disease causing organisms. However, from my perspective, a healthy environment is that which is physically clean, emotionally welcoming, socially good and ensures mental stability.
By Physically clean, i mean the neatness of the place. A place that is free from disease causing microbes, and mosquito. A place where you can feel safe from external threat from both disease, and fellow humans.
The emotionally welcoming there shines light on how well the environment helps a person to keep their emotions in check. It removes any stressors that may alleviate negative emotions and teaches with love, kindness and mutual respect.
Socially good talks about the people that lives in the same environment. It talks about how well behaved they are. It also eradicates the use of harmful substances that may cause ill health to an individual. It also goes further to educate people about the effects of harmful substances as well as the importance of healthy feeding.
Mental stability implies that the environment must be one where an individuals mental health is prioritized. An environment free from agents that could cause depression, and help the depressed come back to good health.
Typing these requirements for a healthy environment feels like i'm writing a magical spell for an illusion magic. Based on my criteria for a healthy environment, i don't really think there can be a healthy environment. If there is one, then it will make people weak because people need challenges, and a tickle of their mental health in other to grow stronger and better.
I am not actually living in a healthy environment. The fact is, if i can create a healthy environment based on my criteria, i would not want to live in it. All i want is the cleanliness. Aside that, i would want to live in a environment that tests my limits both emotionally, and otherwise.
Thank you for reading.
You mention a point that I found fundamental: the need for balance. The ideal environment, in terms of health, should not be completely protected from challenges and stresses, as it is these same challenges that help us grow and evolve.

I think people will become weak if there is no stressor to test their limits.
Discipline is something that a lot of people failed to exhibit not knowing it would go a long way saving a lot.
you have said it all
It's very true that many of us have the knowledge of healthy living, but the discipline to follow through is often missing.
Sometime we don't need to do much, just basic hygiene and good environmental habits can go a long way in putting a stop to some health issues. Sadly, some people don’t realize this until it’s too late.
If we can get disciplined, majority of our problems will be solved. Indiscipline has made people lose good opportunities.
True, we dont really need to do much.
thank you
I love all your points about a healthy environment and that’s how it should be. Health encompasses every area; physically, emotionally and socially. We need to be able to take care of our environment and it all begins right inside our homes to the surrounding corners and areas.
True. Just like how charity begins at home, good health begins by keeping the home environment clean in all ramification.
