Ensuring proper use of donations
In many societal standards, giving to the needy is a nice thing. It is a very important thing that gets the giver loved and adored by the receiver. No matter how small the gifted thing is, appreciation is rendered.

It's one thing to be in the giving sided and it's another thing to be at the receiving end. Many people want to be givers, but due to the fact that they have little to live by, they find themselves being receivers. Irrespective of how little some persons have, they try as much as possible to share with other persons.
Charitable deeds are really nice. It brings joy, and happiness to the receiver. Not only that, it brings joy to the giver too. Givers are adored, and speak highly of.
They say gratitude touches the givers heart and makes them want to do more.. unfortunately, not everyone understands this. In our world today, people can be very ungrateful to the extent of biting the finger that once fed them.
Nowadays it is difficult to differentiate the people who truly need something from those who are just pretending to need. Instead of people to use what they have, they go around begging people for something so that they can save their own and reap from an unsuspecting person.
There is an African adage that says, "giver, be careful of the amount you give out so that a begger will not use your money and build a mansion for himself while you have none." Though giving is good, it's really important to select who we give things to.
Giving donation to institutions, churches and other organizations is another important thing people do. This act helps that particular organisation to solve a given problem they have. However, sometimes, the money and/or property that was donated ends up not being used for it's purpose.
This post is an entry for hive learners prompt, a little charity. In this post, I will share my perspective of charity. I will share whether or not I give donations, and I will share how I ensure that my donations gets to the people who really needs it, and not end up in the pockets of some greedy people.
Aside from the general societal perspectives of donations, I personally see donations as a good thing, not because it makes people loved, praised and cherished, but because it brings me happiness if I donate to a given cause.
However, the world we live in is full of greedy people that pocket everything for themselves. I don't want to go deep into religion but instead of giving to the needy, many church leaders enrich themselves with their members offerings. I get disgusted by this because I see it an act of scamming.

I'm not the type to blindly donate to something. Before I donate, I will make sure that I'm donating to the right person or organisation. I don't give money to beggers on the street, most especially, if they have complete limbs and good sight and hearing. Why beg when you can look for a job? Any job at all will keep the begger going given that they can manage themselves and be contend with what they have.
I don't really think there is a way to make sure that my donations reach where it's supposed to reach. The people I donated to may give false accounts of what they did with the donations, so, after donating, I just forget about it. However, to increase the probability of my donations reaching the right people, I donate only to trusted agencies that have gotten a lot of good reviews from the people the donations are supposed to get to.
