A Part Of Science I Don't Agree With

In almost everything we do, there is more or less a touch of science. Science is in our daily life. The clothe we wear, the food we eat, the electricity we use, the internet we surf and even the gadget I'm using to make this post are all made with the aid of science.

The world has had many breakthroughs, and many things have been made very easy. We have evolved from a time when horses and donkeys were used to travel, and now, we are in the era were, with the aid of science, we travel a very long distance in a few hours. We save time, and energy while enjoying a very comfortable ride in a short distance. Its very impressive.

At the moment, I cant really think of anything made by science that i don't really like or agree with. Though one thing that makes me dislike some science persons around me is the fact that they are atheists. Maybe it came from too much knowledge or something, but some persons I know that practice science (Physicists, mathematicians, philosophers, and some others), don't really believe in the fact that there is a higher entity that was not created or did not evolve.

Now that i mentioned evolve, something just came to my mind about science that i totally disagree with, and that thing is the concept of evolution by Charles Darwin.

I remember when my teacher first introduced this concept in class during my secondary school days. It was initially interesting, until she said Charles proposed humans evolved from another specie.

Well, from my understanding, Charles argument was that - to survive, an organism would have to adapt to diverse harsh environment. The process of adaptability could result in many biological changes. There could be gene mutation which will aid the organism to become stronger, smarter and well equipped, biologically, in other to adapt fully to the harsh environment they fact. I summarized the concept after reading the Darwin's theory of evolution here.

Inarguably, in life, many challenges will force an organism to change. They become more intelligent and better equipped, biologically. Most times, they get wiser, and colder. However, i don't really think there will be a mutation or something related. Maybe i need to read more of his proposal to better understand his perspective, but as for now, this is one aspect of science i totally disagree with.

Additionally, I'm a devout Christian. I believe in the presence of aa higher entity. I believe that - this entity, Jehovah, was not created but he creatd all things. Based on this, the theory proposed by Darwin goes against all my beliefs. This is another major reason why i disagree with this concept.

According to an article i just read, - "Darwin published On the Origin of Species, a lengthy, fleshed-out treatment of his ideas on evolutionary theory. The book was an immediate bestseller and quickly set off a firestorm of controversy. Darwin had expected no less – fear of a backlash from Britain’s religious and even scientific establishment had been the primary reason he had delayed publicizing his ideas." src

From here, it is very obvious that i was not the only one that disagreed with this aspect of science. Even Britain's religious and scientific establishment were not comfortable with the proposed concept.

I really love science but this theory is something I disagree with.

This is my entry for hive learners prompt.

Thank you for reading.

I laughed so hard at that atheist part that I shouted wetin Atheist do you Harris? 😂🤲🏾…. I also do agree with Darwin evolution theory not from a religious view but the fact that it will never make sense to me how fishes or animals evolved to be human beings. The possibility of his theory holding water in that aspect dun commot from science enter juju if you ask me.

lol.. I can only imagine how hard you laughed.

Exactly my point. I can't still wrap my heads around it.

Mutation I think is the transformation of genes. Although, I have not seen it happen. My lecturer ones said it that when you stay in the engine room of Telecom, there would be an evidence of change in mutation, although I did not see that happening.

Maybe its true, maybe its not. Maybe somebody have done an experiment about it in the past. But one thing i know for sure is that mutation is real

I would say it's absolutely ok to agree and/or disagree, we all see things differently, and we tend to interpret as such....

Thanks for sharing.
