Amigos de Tattoo World, hace algunos días, publiqué mi visita a una exposición, acerca del mundo del tatuaje. De hecho, el nombre del evento era, Expotattoo 2024. A dicho evento asistieron diferentes artistas y casas de tatuajes, que hacen vida en Buenos Aires. Habilitaron sus stands, para elaborar de una vez sus hermosas creaciones artísticas.

Friends of Tattoo World, a few days ago, I posted my visit to an exhibition, about the tattoo world. In fact, the name of the event was Expotattoo 2024. The event was attended by different tattoo artists and tattoo parlors, who live in Buenos Aires. They set up their stands to elaborate their beautiful artistic creations at once.

Durante el recorrido por los galpones, que créanme son inmensos, pude observar que también había unos dos o tres expositores, vendiendo sus piercing, además de colocarlos de una vez. Capturé unas fotografías que coloqué en este post en un collage. En ese stand, hay una gran variedad de joyas de oro, plata, acero quirúrgico, entre otros, que estaban a la venta y atrás, una joven que se estaba colocando uno en ese momento.

During the tour of the sheds, which believe me are huge, I could see that there were also two or three exhibitors, selling their piercings, in addition to placing them at once. I captured some pictures that I put in this post in a collage. In that booth, there is a wide variety of gold jewelry, silver, surgical steel, among others, which were for sale and behind, a young woman who was putting one on at the time.

Igualmente, dentro del shopping que frecuento en Avellaneda Sarandí, abrieron un local donde venden diferentes diseños de piercing, es un pequeño espacio, donde tienen una silla para realizar la inserción del piercing, y un espacio donde los ofrecen a la clientela.

Also, inside the shopping mall that I frequent in Avellaneda Sarandi, they opened a shop where they sell different piercing designs, it is a small space where they have a chair to perform the insertion of the piercing, and a space where they offer them to the clientele.

Allí hay unos diseños hermosos, el local lleva por nombre"Body Piercing" Se evidencia que poseen todos los elementos para asegurar un buen trabajo estético, como la higiene, o medidas sanitarias reglamentarias, así como la comodidad del cliente.

There are some beautiful designs, the place is called “Body Piercing”. It is evident that they have all the elements to ensure a good aesthetic work, such as hygiene, or regulatory sanitary measures, as well as customer comfort.

Mientras hacía el recorrido me preguntaba, ¿Por qué se colocan piercing o mejor dicho, perforan sus cuerpos con este tipo de objetos?
Este tipo de elementos decorativos, si nos vamos poco tiempo atrás, yo diría que el primero fue el arete en la oreja, y lo usaban las damas como para embellecer su imagen. Ahora bien, estos adornos, se colocan desde la antigüedad. Es una costumbre cultural, por ejemplo, las mujeres aztecas y de la cultura Maya, acostumbraban colocarse uno en la lengua como muestra de valentía y dar un paso más a la edad adulta.
Las mujeres bengalíes lo usaban para que supieran que estaban casadas.

While I was doing the tour I wondered, why do they pierce their bodies with this type of objects?
This type of decorative elements, if we go back a short time, I would say that the first was the earring in the ear, and the ladies used it to beautify their image. Now, these ornaments have been placed since ancient times. It is a cultural custom, for example, Aztec and Mayan women used to put one on their tongues as a sign of bravery and to take a step closer to adulthood.
Bengali women wore it to let them know they were married.

Según algunas culturas en el mundo, las personas que se colocan el piercing en cualquier lugar de su cuerpo, tienen la creencia de que podría ser una señal de poder, para mejorar la salud, vitalidad, o por creencias religiosas.
En lo particular, lo asocio con el ambiente en el cual se desenvuelve el joven o la joven que tendría la potestad de colocárselo o no, para agradar a su grupo, o para estar a la altura de algo o de alguien. La verdad, el tema, no me quedaría claro. La razón para usar estos piercing, no la relaciono con la misma de un tatuaje. Para mí es totalmente diferente.

According to some cultures in the world, people who place the piercing anywhere on their body, have the belief that it could be a sign of power, to improve health, vitality, or religious beliefs.
In particular, I associate it with the environment in which the young man or woman who would have the power to place it or not, to please his or her group, or to be at the height of something or someone. The truth, the subject, would not be clear to me. The reason to use these piercings, I do not relate it with the same of a tattoo. For me it is totally different.

Yo puedo afirmar que mis hoyos en las orejas están hechos para lucir aretes, pues anteriormente, las madres nos abrían esos hoyitos en el lóbulo de la oreja para diferenciarnos del varón y además para lucir más femenina con ellos.
En la actualidad, pienso que la razón sería por el tema de diferenciarse y/o distinguirse del resto de los jóvenes. Llamar la atención, formar parte de un grupo, o solamente por descubrir que pueden hacer algo que dolerá, pero le permitiría ser aceptado en la sociedad o para mejorar la convivencia con sus amistades.

I can affirm that my holes in my ears are made to show off earrings, because in the past, mothers used to open those holes in our earlobes to differentiate us from men and also to look more feminine with them.
Nowadays, I think the reason would be to differentiate and/or distinguish ourselves from the rest of the young people. To attract attention, to be part of a group, or just to discover that they can do something that will hurt, but it would allow them to be accepted in society or to improve the coexistence with their friends.

Realmente los piercing, los asocio con la juventud. No podría, sino afirmar que ciertamente me gustan algunos, porque se ven lindos. Pero no tanto, como mi admiración y asombro por el arte de piel. Hoy en día, a pesar de que ya no es un tabú, se mantienen en algunas empresas y academias de estudio ciertas formalidades y no aceptan el uso del piercing. Las perforaciones mayormente aceptadas en nuestra sociedad, son las de las cejas, nariz y orejas. El resto, o son mantenidas, ocultas, o tienen un sentido diferente al aceptado en la sociedad.

Today, although it is no longer a taboo, some companies and academies of study maintain certain formalities and do not accept the use of piercing. The piercings mostly accepted in our society are those of the eyebrows, nose and ears. The rest are either kept hidden or have a different meaning than the one accepted in society.

Yo, considero que cada quien tiene la libertad suficiente como para colocarse un tatuaje, o perforarse alguna parte de su cuerpo. Con lo que no estoy ni estaré nunca de acuerdo, es que lo permitan en menores de edad, porque los niños y adolescentes, carecen de la suficiente madurez, para tomar este tipo de decisiones.

I consider that everyone has enough freedom to get a tattoo or pierce any part of their body. What I do not agree with and will never agree with, is that they allow it in minors, because children and adolescents lack sufficient maturity to make such decisions.
