Esa noche, esperaba por mí, este hermoso Lapacho Rosado//[ESP-ENG]

Mientras salía de paseo, una de esas noches durante las cuales, se sienten deseos de salir a disfrutar del aire fresco que nos regala la primavera, me encontré con este árbol, que para mi asombro, estaba colmado de flores de color rosado. Tan hermoso era, que no tuve más remedio que sacar mi teléfono, e invitarlo a posar para mí.

Es un árbol que durante todo el invierno estuvo seco y desnudo. Y pensar que yo le pasaba, por un lado, cada vez que iba a los galpones del parque multipropósito "La Estación", para ver algún evento especial. Nunca me advirtió de su real belleza. En efecto, yo he escrito otras veces acerca de esta especie, pero en esta oportunidad, lo sentí muy diferente y especial.
Él, estaba allí, oculto entre otros árboles que no dan flores tan bellas como las que luce este espectacular ejemplar, cuyo nombre es: *Lapacho rosado, y su nombre científico, Handroanthus heptaphyllus o Handroanthus impetiginosus.

Este Lapacho es originario de Sudamérica. Lo podemos encontrar en Argentina, Paraguay, Bolivia, Brasil y en mi país Venezuela, que aunque está al norte del Sur, también lo pude ver varias veces y con otro nombre.

Lo invité a que posara para mí, pero, inexperto al fin, no podía dejar de moverse, pues el viento tan fuerte de ese momento, impedía capturas nítidas y tranquilas. Aunque finalmente, me dediqué a esperar que la brisa lo acariciara, para luego hacer estas hermosas capturas, con mi Samsung A-12.

Por supuesto que este árbol, ha sido plantado en toda la ciudad de Buenos Aires. Se le encuentra en los parques, orillas de ríos y lagos, aceras y algunos espacios públicos y privados. Tan solo dando brillo al lugar donde se encuentre. Si no hay flores, igualmente sus hojas son hermosas.

Me enteré de que el Lapacho rosado, es el árbol nacional de Paraguay, donde también lo utilizan como medicinal. En mi país, Venezuela, el Lapacho tiene por nombre, Apamate rosado. En Margarita, Estado Nueva Esparta, lo llaman Guayacán. Como dato curioso, les debo señalar, que hay un dicho muy oriental que tiene que ver con este árbol… Allá cuando se le dice a una persona, “Estás fuerte y viejo como un Guayacán”, se estaría destacando lo fuerte, longevo y noble, del mismo, como características principales del Árbol.

Si observan su flor, esta, tiene mucha similitud con la flor del árbol nacional de Venezuela, que es el Araguaney. La diferencia es que el Araguaney es amarillo, pero resulta, que es de la misma especie, y de iguales características. Es decir, que el Araguaney es un Lapacho amarillo y el Apamate también. Es cuestión del lugar donde se produce.

While out for a walk, one of those nights when you feel like going outside to enjoy the fresh air that spring brings, I came across this tree, which, to my amazement, was covered in pink blossoms. It was so beautiful that I had no choice but to take out my phone and invite it to pose for me.

It's a tree that lay dry and bare all winter. And to think that I used to pass by it every time I went to the warehouses of the "La Estación" multipurpose park to see a special event. It never warned me of its true beauty. Indeed, I've written about this species before, but this time, it felt very different and special.
It was there, hidden among other trees that don't produce flowers as beautiful as those displayed by this spectacular specimen, whose name is the *pink lapacho, and its scientific name is Handroanthus heptaphyllus or Handroanthus impetiginosus.

This Lapacho is native to South America. We can find it in Argentina, Paraguay, Bolivia, Brazil, and in my home country of Venezuela, which, although it's located in the northern part of the South, I've also seen it several times, under another name.

I invited him to pose for me, but, inexperienced as he was, he couldn't stop moving, as the strong wind at that moment prevented clear, calm shots. In the end, though, I just waited for the breeze to caress him, then took these beautiful shots with my Samsung A-12.

Of course, this tree has been planted throughout Buenos Aires. It can be found in parks, along river and lake shores, sidewalks, and some public and private spaces. It simply brightens up the place where it's located. Even if there are no flowers, its leaves are still beautiful.

I learned that the pink lapacho tree is the national tree of Paraguay, where it is also used medicinally. In my home country, Venezuela, the lapacho tree is called pink apamate. In Margarita, Nueva Esparta, State, it is called guayacán. As a curious fact, I should point out that there is a very Eastern saying related to this tree… Back then, when someone is told, “You are as strong and old as a guayacán,” they are highlighting its strength, longevity, and nobility as the tree’s main characteristics.

If you look at its flower, it bears a striking resemblance to the flower of Venezuela's national tree, the Araguaney. The difference is that the Araguaney is yellow, but it turns out they're the same species and have the same characteristics. In other words, the Araguaney is a yellow Lapacho, and so is the Apamate. It's a matter of where it grows.
