Bendición de los Olivos."Semana Santa en Argentina"[ESP-ENG]

Hoy, domingo 13 de abril, se inicia mi cuarta Semana Santa en este país. Este año, asistí a la Catedral de Avellaneda— Lanús, Parroquia Nuestra Señora de la Asunción. La ceremonia comenzó a las diez en punto de la mañana. Ya habían convocado a los feligreses a través de las redes sociales, como se suele hacer en la actualidad. Yo llegué a las nueve y veinte, a esperar el ritual de la bendición de los olivos sentada, cerca de la puerta del templo, para ingresar y poder sentarme mientras comenzaba la misa.
En efecto, todo fluyó como debió ser.
El obispo, con su báculo pastoral en la mano, iba delante de los asistentes, dando así la vuelta en procesión y regando agua bendita y bendiciendo con sus manos los ramos de olivo que cada quien alzaba. Fue una ceremonia muy linda y ordenada, a pesar de que la plaza estaba colmada de gente. Al terminar la bendición, la procesión se dirige a la iglesia para presenciar la santa misa en honor a la entrada triunfal de Jesús a Jerusalén.
Por supuesto, la iglesia se llenó a tal punto, que quedó mucha gente de pie. Comienza el ritual católico, se escucha el coro de músicos acompañando al Obispo, y demás diáconos y colaboradores con esta celebración.
Ha sido una jornada muy linda. Lo único que eché de menos fue la bendición de las palmas, como se acostumbra en mi Venezuela querida, porque allá se produce la mata de palmas de coco. Me vine a casa satisfecha por lo hermosa que fue la ceremonia, y con mis dos ramitas de olivo para entregarlas en casa al Niño Jesús, que permanece presente como señal de mi espiritualidad y fe durante todo el año. Today, Sunday, April 13, marks the beginning of my fourth Holy Week in this country. This year, I attended the Cathedral of Avellaneda-Lanús, Parish of Our Lady of the Assumption. The ceremony began at ten o'clock in the morning. They had already summoned the parishioners through social networks, as it is usually done nowadays. I arrived at twenty past nine, to wait for the ritual of the blessing of the olive trees sitting near the door of the temple, to enter and be able to sit down while the mass began.
Indeed, everything flowed as it should have.
The bishop, with his pastoral staff in his hand, went in front of the attendees, going around in procession and sprinkling holy water and blessing with his hands the olive branches that everyone was holding up. It was a very nice and orderly ceremony, even though the square was full of people. At the end of the blessing, the procession went to the church to witness the holy mass in honor of Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem.
Of course, the church was so full that many people were left standing. The Catholic ritual begins, the choir of musicians accompanying the Bishop and other deacons and collaborators with this celebration can be heard.
It has been a very nice day. The only thing I missed was the blessing of the palms, as it is customary in my beloved Venezuela, because the coconut palm trees are grown there. I went home satisfied with how beautiful the ceremony was, and with my two olive branches to give at home to the Baby Jesus, who remains present as a sign of my spirituality and faith throughout the year.
