Harvest of joy; A visit to my farmland
Good evening dear friends,I specially greet the moderators of this group, the admins for their tireless efforts in keeping the group active,it's always a thing of joy to share my experience here.
And am also happy the way it is received it's shows it's a family of love........
I remain @ntul001 and today I have come to share with you all the result of my efforts....
What I learnt from my parents whike frowning is what is making me happy and also feeding me.......
Weighing the economy of today in Nigeria...
Comparing and contrasting the prices of things from before till now ,One really need to have a second thought....
sometimes Plan B like they say always a better plan, I am a student,a musician and also a business person.
But last year being 2024 in the month of June I decided to try the little agricultural skills I learnt from my parents though they wer not full time famers, they work for the government and also did part time farming but their parents (my grandparents) were peasant farmers....
When I a was child I normally go for my grandparents for holidays and they do take me to farm even though I don't do anything at all at least just to watch and at a point my parents also join in part time farming....
And this time around I became fully involved in it.
Back to what I was saying...
I had to practice what I have been learning as a child,I decided to start a little farm around my neighborhood it's not that big, but I just had to start, because I believe in starting small no matter what and since I am not farm on my own except a joint one with my parents so I decided to plant what I can manage.......
I planted crops such as yams, pepper,Maize....
well I harvested all them last year,And I still eating some of the produce till now....
But I what amazed me most is that when my other crops where matured I added some cassava to the other crops.....
I did it just for the sake of let the place not be empty when I finish harvesting the other crops....
it's been months I visited there ,so yesterday it rained heavily last night so at dawn I decided to go and check my farm.....
The story in details.....
My visit to my farm, I will be taking you around to show my farm well it's been a while I visited my farm throughout the dry season after I finished harvesting the yams, pepper an every other thing so it rained yesterday in my area so I decided to visit my farm after a long period of time now getting to my farm I saw that my cassava has grown so big and tall it was so surprising to me wow!!! what I planted just a small stick of cassava stem has turned into a full grown cassava farm at large and I'm so happy about that it's indeed true that hard work pays well when I was a child I learnt this farming skills from my parent then it was like stress to me but today I can really benefit from what I was taught as a child toward agriculture....
it's indeed good to engage yourself in the practice of agriculture be it crop farm, fish farming, mention but the few......
The economy is demanding.....
Help yourself out.....
I love agriculture as well, it's one of the good solution to the economic crisis we're facing in our region..
