Outdoor Saturday Cleaning with My Red Cross Family. || Sábado de limpieza al aire libre con mi familia de la Cruz Roja.
As we all know, the dry season and Christmas season often come with a lot of dust. After the holiday break, many offices are left covered in dust, cobwebs, and overgrown grass in their surroundings. This was exactly the case at the Red Cross Office, Uyo Division.
Como todos sabemos, la estación seca y las Navidades suelen venir acompañadas de mucho polvo. Tras las vacaciones, muchas oficinas quedan cubiertas de polvo, telarañas y hierba crecida en sus alrededores. Este fue exactamente el caso de la Oficina de la Cruz Roja, División de Uyo.
To address this, we decided to embark on a cleanup exercise today. It turned out to be a fun-filled activity as we gisted while working. When I arrived at the office, I saw other volunteers sweeping, mopping, and washing the offices. After exchanging pleasantries, I picked up a broom and joined the cleaning. While at it, I noticed the louvres were very dusty, so I cleaned them using a soaked rag.
Para solucionarlo, decidimos embarcarnos hoy en un ejercicio de limpieza. Ha resultado ser una actividad muy divertida, ya que hemos jugado mientras trabajábamos. Cuando llegué a la oficina, vi a otros voluntarios barriendo, fregando y lavando las oficinas. Tras intercambiar saludos, cogí una escoba y me uní a la limpieza. Mientras lo hacía, me di cuenta de que las rejillas tenían mucho polvo, así que las limpié con un trapo empapado.
After the indoor cleaning, I took charge of burning the waste, while others focused on weeding the surroundings. Although the tasks for the day were plenty, it didn’t feel tiring because many hands were on deck, each handling different responsibilities. Knowing how important it is to maintain a clean environment also made the work more enjoyable.
