MY FUN-FILLED BIRTHDAY DURING THE WEEKEND

A birthday comes once a year, and it is a day we celebrate our arrival into the world, a day when family and friends come together to celebrate us.

Mine was no exception. I woke up to birthday texts and calls from friends, family, and various organizations. It was also my perfect day of the week, Sunday. I woke up, thanked God for adding another year to my life, and checked my messages, responding to some of them. I then proceeded to tidy up my room and prepare something to eat. Afterward, I took a shower, dressed up in traditional attire, and got ready for church.

On getting to church, it turned out to be one of the best days ever. The praise session was electrifying, filled with so much dancing. The message was impactful, and after the service, we stayed back to continue dancing and playing music. Since I love music, I enjoyed every moment of it. I also took some pictures before heading home, still receiving birthday calls, texts, and gifts.

Coincidentally, Sunday was also the day of our Rotary/Rotaract meeting. When the time came, I joined my members at the meeting venue. It was one of the most fun-filled meetings ever! We sang Rotary songs, the birthday song, and I was celebrated. I was even given a task to dance, and it was all fun, fun, fun!

Later that evening, as is my tradition to unwind, I went to a place where I could listen to cool live band music and sit with a few close friends. We enjoyed the live music, fresh air, and natural drinks, and it was all good. The sound of the band playing, the laughter of people around, and the calm atmosphere made it a perfect ending to my special day.

As I reflected on the day, I couldn’t help but feel grateful for the love and support I received. The messages, the calls, the gifts, and the beautiful moments made me appreciate the people in my life even more.

As it got darker, I realized I had work the next day, so I had to find my way back home.

Dear friends, it was truly a fun-filled birthday.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!
