No matter how active or hardworking you are, once you are overworked or pushed beyond your endurance limit, if you are not strong enough, you will either break down or flee from the work.
I remember a neighbor who was a surgeon. He was very good at his job and would carry out a lot of surgical procedures in a day before returning home to be with his family.
One day, as we were sitting outside the house, we saw him drive in. It was not even the usual time he returned. And when he stepped down from the car, he was scratching his head like someone being attacked by fleas, and we thought he had some in his hair, so we nearly called him a flea surgeon, but we paused to ask questions before concluding. When we asked what the problem was, he smiled and said, “In the history of my work, I have never been this stressed. Immediately I arrived at the office, work was already piled up for me. There were so many surgeries to perform. I did my best but at a point, I became so stressed that I could no longer see clearly. I had to flee from the office because I knew that if I went into the theater again, I might make a serious mistake.”
We all started laughing and told him, “Today, you have become a fleeing surgeon.” But that was actually a wise decision. Instead of continuing under stress and risking costly mistakes, fleeing to relax was the better option. Do not work under stress to avoid making mistakes. And behaving like someone being attacked by flea.
