How Hive Has Benefited Me
As I mentioned in my welcome post, starting the year with Hive Blockchain was one of the best decisions I made. I have been on Hive for a little over a month now, and I am truly grateful to @gloreal, who introduced me to the platform last year and took the time to coach me.
What is hive ?
Hive (HIVE) is a decentralized content sharing platform that rewards users with HIVE coins for active participation. It operates on a Delegated Proof of Stake (DPoS) protocol, where users elect Witnesses to validate transactions and produce new blocks. The platform is designed for social media dApps, emphasizing speed, security, and large storage space for media. HIVE has a unique Proof of Brain protocol, incentivizing quality content creation. Users can easily send HIVE amongst each other, and it also exists in a non-liquid form called Hive Power (HP), which can be delegated to Witnesses. Being a social media-inclined person, I have explored different sites and platforms, which, to some extent, were okay and fun but often did not yield benefits proportional to the energy I put into them. However, Hive has been different. In just over a month, it has added immense value to my life in ways I never imagined.
Achievements on Hive
As someone who loves writing, primarily academic writing, Hive has helped me expand my scope to include storytelling and fiction writing.
It has improved my critical thinking skills, allowing me to express my thoughts more effectively through writing.
It serves as a platform where I can read, learn from others, and also share my knowledge.
Most importantly, financial empowerment through content monetization: Hive has given me the opportunity to earn from my content without relying on third-party advertisers. Through the Proof-of-Brain mechanism, I receive rewards in Hive tokens when people engage with my posts. This financial incentive has transformed content creation into a meaningful and rewarding activity.
Hive Blockchain has also helped me make better use of my leisure time by inspiring me to write and share valuable content.
Hive is more than just a social media platform to me, it is an ecosystem that fosters financial freedom, interaction, and technological advancement. As I approach my second month on Hive, I pray for the grace to achieve more and remain consistent.
