DOUBLE DATING ; NOT THE WAY FORWARD
AI Generated Image
Dating is a social and romantic relationship between two people of the opposite gender. It is meant to be a time of exploration, where both individuals get to know each other better and support one another, morally, financially, and in other ways. As I mentioned earlier, dating should be a private affair between two people seeking to understand each other.
However, in recent times, double dating has become the order of the day, which is quite appalling. It is now common to see individuals involved in relationships with multiple partners. For some, it is a lifestyle; for others, it is a means of financial gain or a way to secure favors. Some even treat it as a business. Additionally, a lack of trust, often stemming from past heartbreaks, can also contribute to the trend of double dating. Many people, having been hurt in previous relationships, now put up emotional barriers and find it difficult to trust again, even when they meet genuinely honest partners. But the big question remains: Should we continue in sin so that grace may abound? Your response is as good as mine.
From my perspective, double dating does not solve any problems; rather, it worsens relationship issues. Some of its negative effects include the following:
1 . Dishonesty and Betrayal
Relationships thrive on trust, and when one partner senses betrayal, such as through double dating, it often leads to heartbreak and the eventual collapse of the relationship.
2 . Emotional and Psychological Stress
Dating one person already comes with its fair share of challenges. Now, imagine adding another partner to the mix, it’s simply double wahala! Anxiety, guilt, and the constant fear of being caught will take a toll on one's mental and emotional well-being.
3 . Damage to Personal Integrity and Values
As the saying goes, trust, once broken, is difficult to regain. If I catch you cheating once, forget it, I will never trust you again. When you double date, you tarnish your integrity, making it hard for people to respect or believe in you.
4 . Reputation Damage
A reputation takes years to build but only moments to destroy. Engaging in double dating can earn you a negative image, making others perceive you as unfaithful and unreliable.
5 . Habit Formation: Practice Makes Perfect
Some people double date with the mindset that they will change once they get married. However, they fail to realize that habits, once formed, become difficult to break. What you practice consistently becomes a part of you, and marriage does not automatically change one’s character.
With the above points, I strongly oppose double dating. Instead of playing with someone’s emotions, it is better to remain single, after all, being single is not a crime. Thank you.

Ohh thanks
Double dating breeds dishonesty and damage to one's reputation. Rather than solving problems, it creates more, its not a crime to be single and take your time to wait for genuine love than to play with someone's emotions.
