It came to my attention, recently, that Ireland expanded their re-patriotization program to allow one to apply if they have a great-great grandparent which was born in Ireland. That was the case with my Great Great Grandfather Thomas Dooley. Thought it would be a nice second passport to have as it would give one access to the EU. Besides Ireland is said to be a lovely place, putting their latest troubles aside.

My Grandfather was Irish and also eligible for this and maybe handy for the EU.
Definitely a nice back door to the EU. A grandfather is a pretty sure thing for citizenship.
