Hidden Mesmerizing Waterfall at Norway-Kvinesdal

Hello friends! 2 weeks ago we visited Rafoss Waterfall and we were very impressed, so we decided to go and see the waterfalls around us. There was a waterfall that we always saw from a distance while walking on the main street, and today we set out to see it up close. There is water everywhere in Norway, but we were excited to see such a powerful waterfall up close and we thought you would enjoy it too. Let's start if you are ready!

Unfortunately it's a bit rainy today but nothing to do, we are used to it because it's very likely that the days will be rainy after the summer season is over. If we sit at home because it's raining we probably can't live here, we need activity.

As I said, we saw this waterfall from a distance while walking on the road and although there was a long distance between us, it looked strong, so we wanted to see it up closer. We did research on the internet to find out the exact location, but we couldn't find any sign of this place even on Google Maps. The point I will mark on Pinmapple is the location I decided with my own research, if you want to visit, you can use the mark on Pinmapple as a guide instead of Google Maps because it is more accurate 😂

Aesthetic shots from the trip

Since our journey will be a bit long - about 5-6 km - we will have to walk, I tried to capture the aesthetic moments I saw around for you.

As we were walking through the forest, we saw a pathway going down and when we followed it we came to the edge of a lake like this, after taking a break here we continued on our way. By the way, I think this is an area where people can swim in the summer season because the big rocks like the rock you see in the photo are covered with water and the water must have risen because it is winter. On the left side there is a small part like a beach.

This place is like a shelter that we come across in the same forest path just before we see the path. It is scary to see such an ancient structure in the middle of the forest.

IMG_2473.jpeg

We hadn't yet entered the forest road here, I took this photo as I was walking along the main street, crossing over the bridge. The harmony of the location of the house combined with the grass, the sky and the blue of the river fascinates me every time I pass by, and I wanted to share this photo with you. It's like a postcard.

IMG_2474.jpeg

As we continued our walk to the waterfall, we came to a street that diverged to the right and left and here I came across two trees like this, I liked this photo very much. The color difference of the trees created a remarkable image in the hazy air.

IMG_2443.jpeg

We slowly approached the waterfall, passing through the forest and through the side streets, finally getting a closer view of the waterfall and realizing that we only had a short distance to arrive.

IMG_2435.jpeg

And yes, now we could see the waterfall more closely, we realized when we came here that it was in a very interesting location because the location we are in now is a residential area. There are many houses here and the roads are like a maze, we couldn't understand which road we should follow to see this place more closely. We preferred the closest road but the end of the road leads to a dead end. In this way we tried 3-4 different roads but we could not reach the waterfall.

IMG_2442.jpeg

Then we tried a different method and instead of going directly to the waterfall, we tried to go around it and this tactic worked. We turned on the road you see in the photo and took the waterfall to our left. Normally it is directly in front of us, but as I said, when we tried to go there directly, unfortunately we couldn't reach it. Fortunately, this tactic worked and as we walked, the sound of the waterfall became much louder.

IMG_2444.jpeg

The closer we got to the destination, the more we felt how unusual the location was. There is so much noise from the flow of the water that I wish I could send you a sound recording of it. I don't understand how people can live here with this noise.

IMG_2465.jpeg

We finally got to the point and as you can see in the photo, this is in the backyard of somebody's house. Imagine living here, you wake up and you see this from the window of your house. It's really very interesting. Because this is a private area, people are shy to go closer to it directly, but there is a culture in Norway: If there are places of natural beauty that people want to visit, if it's on private property, the owner has to understand that, and because they've grown up with that culture, they don't have a problem with us seeing it up close.

Even when we are standing here, the water drops come on us in the form of dust from the force of the water. It is a very spacious environment and we stopped here for a while, rested and enjoyed the view. As I said, it was really in a very interesting location, I will mark the exact location on pinmapple. If you come to Norway, if you want to take a hike in the Agder region, I recommend you to visit this place. It was a pleasant walk for us too, we walked about 13 km in total. After a tiring day, preparing this post gave me a rest and I hope you had fun reading it. Do not spare your comments, it makes me happy to interact with readers. See you in our next post. Bye!
