Are Automations Necessary In Nursing?

Before I even talk about the impact and misuse of automations in our society, let me first tell us what this automation is really about. To get a better understanding of what automation entails, just imagine that you are in a big conference room where all the ceiling fans are off, and then a developer comes with a device, press a single button and all the ceiling fans started turning at the same time.
Automation in simple terms refers to a system or bunch of systems that carry out tasks and get them accomplished faster, usually without the invention of a human agent. As the name implies, automated system are devices that have been design to automatically perform the process of a particular job even when no human is directly participating.

The major reasons why automation is rapidly taking over every field in society is because automated systems have proven to be faster, more productive, and cost-efficient. With automated systems, an organization can handle tasks that requires repeated processes.
For example, in a Customer Care's job where repeated questions are been asked regularly, an automated system can be brought in to handle cases of repeated questions, thereby saving time wastage and less work for the humans. But even with all these good sides of automation, I still think humans are becoming more lazy day by day because of the help we are getting from these machines.
Technology is evolving rapidly and am sure we are all happy about that, because who wouldn't love exciting innovations that can make human jobs easier. However, humans have started misusing some of this technological innovations.
These technologies were originally supposed to be designed for solving real life problems of humans, but nowadays humans look for problems that doesn't exist and apply for the need of an automated system. Else, how can you explain that people now seek the services of automated systems to wash their plates and dishes. It's just laziness and misuse of technology if you ask me.

I strongly believe it would do society more good if we skip the implementation of automated system in the Nursing profession. Nurses play one of the most important roles in the hospital because they are the ones that show emotional and physical care to patients in the hospital more than the doctors.
For a profession that has to do with the human life, I would suggest we should not put it all in the hands of automated devices. These automated devices are supposed to be controlled by us, but we are allowing these devices get into our heads and controlling us.
That emotional holding of hands by nurses can never be the same with automated systems. It would only be foolish to seek solution to a situation that doesn't require it. Even if it's possible to implement these automated devices in the medical field, it isn't necessary to some of the medical sub-fields.
I hear cases of robots and AI's performing surgerical operations on patients in the hospital, and I begin to wonder what the future holds for humans. Not everything needs automation, and the earlier we realize that the better for us.

As far as I know, humans are the smartest and most intelligent species on earth, and as such there are some common things we use our brains and emotions to detect instead of depending on a device to make important decisions for us.
I am not a rejecter of the good and easy life automated system can offer, but do we really need a device to tell us that our plates are dirty? do we need automated systems to tell us that our food is burning? or that our dog is feeling sad?
I know that automation is possible in some of these areas of life, but it's not always necessary to automate everything. Especially in the medical field and the Nursing profession, automation could cost the life's of some unlucky humans if the device malfunctions.
