WITHOUT THE PHONE

In the later hours of today, my mobile phone ran out of power and I was forced to deal with my intrusive thoughts for the very first time in a long time. Usually, when I am not with my phone I engage in other activities that make my time off my phone unnoticeable. However, Today I had nothing to do to fill my time, so I decided to take a pen and paper to write down this post.

The last time I wrote on a piece of paper was four years ago in college. Even then I had opted for making photocopies of my friend's note. writing was just tedious, I wanted the quickest way out. Thinking about it now, I wonder if people would still write notes a decade from now. This beautiful art of writing might be lost like many other things throughout our history.

From personal experience, I believe that mobile phones have become an indispensable part of our daily lives, contributing more positively than negatively to humanity. Nevertheless, it would be ideal to reduce our dependence on them in the future.

In some way, I miss the feeling of not being attached to my phone. It wasn't something I grew up using. I was about 18 when I got my first movie device. In my home, we only had one computer while growing up and it was for my dad's business. I only had access to a computer late in the night. In retrospect being online was more valued and people were more animated or excited when they came online.

Now every part of my life is online. It is difficult to stay present and aware of one's environment and even thought. I am lucky because I grew up before the mobile phone craze. Kids these days do not even know better, and it worries me to some degree, which is way I will make more conscious effort to change my lifestyle.

Are you as attached to your mobile device(s) as I am? Do you think it is a good thing? Why? Share with me in the comment section. I will love to hear from you.

That will be all for today guys, thanks for stopping by

Wow, four years ago, is a long time, that might also be the case for many other people, and as you say, it gradually fade away. I write on paper from time to time, not often though.

I'm very much attached to my phone. I do everything with it, work and leisure. It's a super personal assistant, such a beautiful invention.
