Luis Diaz has been on the lips of FC Barcelona fans since the start of the January transfer window as a potential candidate for the LW position in the squad next season. Liverpool has publicly shown that they are not ready to sell Luis Diaz as I reported in one of my posts this week. Luis Diaz has openly said he loves Liverpool as they have treated him well, and if the club wants him to leave, he will leave. Barcelona is still pressing even with this statement, as he is their number one target this summer window, but this has just got a little interesting these past two days.

Nico Williams was FC Barcelona's main target in the summer window, but the player was reluctant to accept the move to the Catalan club last summer window. The main reason Nico Williams rejected Barcelona's offer at that time was because he feared not getting registered by Barcelona in Laliga. This was the main problem Nico Williams had. Even with the assurance of Deco, he was still reluctant to accept FC Barcelona proposals last summer, and he remained at Athletic Bilbao in the just concluded season.

It was reported by Fabrizio Romano two days ago that Nico Williams has been given priority to join FC Barcelona this summer as the Spanish forward is ready to accept FC Barcelona proposals on personal terms to make the move a reality. Nico Williams's agent has been in talks with Barcelona sporting director Deco as his agent has assured Deco that Nico wants only to join Barcelona and is not listing to any offers at the moment from other clubs. Bayern Munich and Arsenal are the two clubs in the picture who are in the race to sign Nico Williams this summer.

Nico William's camp has already had a meeting with Bayern Munich and the German club is aware that the player is giving priority to FC Barcelona but will wait and try to see how the deal develops because as it stands it is now it's up to Barcelona to decide to trigger the release clause of Nico Williams this summer which is around 60 million euros or still go with their initial plan to sign Luis Diaz from Liverpool. Barcelona, even without saying anything so far with their actions, just shows Luis Diaz is top of their list for the LW position this summer, not Nico Williams.

Nico Williams is a young winger and would improve as time goes on and would be a better investment for FC Barcelona than Luis Diaz for the future. Hansi Flick is an incredible manager, and I am sure Nico Williams will thrive under the German coach. From the latest reports, Hansi Flick is pushing for Nico to come this summer. It is just a rumor as nothing is confirmed yet, but in the coming weeks, we will see how this saga develops because it is one to watch this summer. So, guys, that will be all for now. Thanks for stopping by and have a good day.
