Liverpool's Injury List Continues

The injury list keeps going up for Liverpool this season. Last night's game against Sunderland saw Liverpool player Wataru Endo pick up an injury, and from the reaction of Endo, it looks like he will be out for a long time, which is sad. Endo couldn't hold his emotions when he was being carried out of the pitch, which just shows how severe the injury he picked up last night was. Liverpool now has Giovanni Leoni, Jeremine Frimpong, Conor Bradley, Wataru Endo, Alexander Isak, and Stefan Bajectic all out due to injury which has reduced the squad depth.

The problems keep getting bigger for the Reds when the crucial part of the season has already begun. There is no guarantee that Liverpool will retain their title this season, as we look at the stats, currently, the team is far from overtaking Arsenal at the top of the table. The only realistic goal now is for the Reds to finish in the top four of the Premier League table to secure a place in the Champions League next season. The injury situation has been giving Arne Slot trouble in the second half of the football season. The quality of the team dropped, and even with this win against Sunderland, I am still not convinced of the team's performance.

The question now is whether, with Endo out and Dominic Szoboszlai still serving a match ban for picking up a red card against Manchester, who will fill the right-back role in Liverpool's next match. Calvin Ramsay is another player for that right-back role but the Scottish player has yet to feature in any Premier League matches this season. There is no clear reason why Arne Slot has not given the young lad a chance to prove himself on the pitch, which is vital in the development of young players.

This just takes me back to the days of Jurgen Klopp when he was still a Liverpool player, as academy players were given chances in the first team. That is how Liverpool was able to discover Trent Alexander-Arnold, who turned out to be incredible during his time at the club. Arne Slot needs to look within the academy and get those young boys to try hard for a first-team spot. Conor Bradley is out for the rest of the season so there is no chance we will see him in that right back position till next season. There is no update yet on Jeremine Frimpong's return to action, but I am sure it will be soon.

It is not looking good for the Reds and hopefully, they find the means to secure a spot in the Champions League. It will be a horrible season if Liverpool doesn't make the Champions League next season with all the money spent during the summer window. The board are still happy with Slot but it could change if the Reds don't end with a positive performance this season. So, guys, that will be all for now. Thanks for stopping by and have a good day.
