IT IS NOT TOO TO START AGAIN
Around this time last year, I made a huge decision without any clear plans on how i would achieve my goals. I just knew things had to change because, for a long time, things weren't going right for me and I was sick and tired of it. So I followed through with my decision to try something new despite all the uncertainities surrounding my decisions and today I am grateful for it.
This year again I make plans--lofty ones, without any clear means of achieving them. Some would say I am setting myself up for failure. It makes no sense to set unrealistic plans, and I understand why those around me might think I am nuts, however, I believe they are doable.
The thing about having big plans is that they either set you up to perform beyond your estimated potential or crumble you with doubt. For me, it's the former. I know what it will take to achieve the thing(s) I want and it is left to me to show up and get the work done.
The other thing about dreaming beyond the confines of your reality is that it opens your eyes to the right opportunities. You are not distracted by everything but focused on something and you can identify that thing when it shows up.
Now, you might be in a situation like I am where you need to start afresh (again) and you don't know how to start. From my experience as someone who has hit rock bottom countless times and still finds his way back up, I will tell you that the hardest part is starting.
To start anything takes war convictions. You need to understand your reason for wanting to start any venture and it should be strong enough to take you through the entire process. In my case, my anchor is wanting to be independent and not having my life be determined by two many factors beyond my control.
Understandably, we can not control every aspect of our lives. However, in instances where we can, it is important that we take charge and that for me is what 2024 is all about. This is not a New Year resolution but a mindset, which I hope carries me through the year.
So start today. Invest 5 minutes on the thing you want to learn or the relationship you want to cultivate. It doesn't have to be something grand. Start with what you can. It can be tge barest minimum and you can scale things over time. Don't be bamboozled by those who are doing better than you are, they all started from somewhere.
Finally, bet on yourself. If you want the best for you then you should be able to do whatever it takes to get you ahead. You would do so against the criticism and the noise in the world telling you otherwise. The beautiful thing about betting on yourself is that when you eventually win, you get to take it all. I personally will stake everything on myself knowing the reward would be massive. There is no better incentive to wake up every day and want to do the absolute best.
Thanks for this soul-lifting content bro and I believe that a lot of people will learn from this.
The very first time I made an unrealistic goal, it was very challenging and even though I couldn't achieve it, I did more than what I thought was my limit.
Setting goals whether little or huge requires lots of dedication and I will be applying the advice you have shared in the post.
Thanks a lot.
Yeah, it is good to always have a goal, whether small or big. It is good to have a sense of direction, so as not to be confused by the noise around you. I hope and pray everyone reading this post (including yourself) achieve all they set out to do this year
One can not go wrong with this advice you have just shared. One thing about making lofty plans or goals is that, it challenges you to grow.
And yes, the best bet you can ever bet in life is betting on yourself, you never know what you are capable of until you try.
