Is Artificial Intelligence Taking Over the Entertainment Industry?
Artificial Intelligence has been a subject of discussion for some time, as it has been making headlines for a long time. I remember when writers went on strike because they felt or believed that AI was taking their jobs. This strike lasted for about a month as we saw famous TV reality shows go off the air and only replayed their previous episodes. James Gunn, the CEO of DC Studios, also made a post about the strike and discussed how the Superman movie, which was released several months ago, was on pause due to the strike.
The big question about whether AI is taking jobs, as there are different answers to these questions, as some will say yes, while others will say it is not, as we need to evolve and use this technology to harmonise the workplace. All AI tools down from ChatGPT, OpenAI, and Grok are unique in their own ways, but the honest truth is they are taking jobs from people and I don't know how many may deny this fact, but it is happening at a high pace and his infiltrating the entertainment sector and I will give a good example from what I witnessed recently.
There is this series called The House of David( it is an incredible series, by the way, you can check it out). This show is a biblical story about how David rose to become king of Israel from being just a shepherd boy to joining the house of Saul. There is this particular episode in season 1 which was titled Giants Awakened. In this episode, the first few minutes were given a backstory about the fall of angels and how some angels took up wives and fathered children who turned into giants and caused havoc on the earth.
During the backstory, I noticed that the shots were not filmed, but were made by AI. It was bluntly there staring at me in the face that this was not all done by AI and not acted by any individual, shot and edited. The directors just went and asked AI to create a specific shot to add into the film. The first thing I thought was that the budget was not enough for the directors to create that scene without using AI, or they just felt it was the best thing to do for that part. There is doubt that other directors would be using AI in the long run for their movies, and this brings me to another question: whether it is good or bad.
In my opinion, I don't like what I saw in that scene, as it takes out the originality of watching actors perform, even if it is just to tell a brief story. This reduces the creativity for writers who, in the end, give out poor-quality content for interested viewers. The truth is, at the end of the day, this will affect the entertainment sector, and more people could lose their jobs in that industry. So that will be all for now. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

It's taking over everything. We're screwed.
