Darwin Nunez To Napoli Is Still In Progress
Good day, everyone, and welcome to another edition of Liverpool's summer transfer update.
This week, I gave an update on the situation between Liverpool, Darwin Nunez and Napoli. Today I will share some updates on how the situation between all three parties has developed over the week. It is no news that Darwin Nunez will leave the club this summer as he will potentially be the third exit from the club this summer with others expected to happen as well as the transfer window is opened.
Saudi Arabia clubs are interested in signing Darwin Nunez this summer, but the Uruguayan is only giving priority to Napoli as they are leading the race to sign Darwin Nunez this summer. The negotiation between Darwin Nunez and Napoli on a personal deal is still ongoing as there has not been any green light given by the players' camp to Napoli yet. Napoli are still trying to convince Darwin Nunez of their project, and I am quite sure what is holding up personal terms to be sealed between Darwin Nunez and Napoli will be the salary the player will earn in the contract.
Liverpool has dropped a fee for Darwin Nunez to Napoli as the English club wants to collect a fee of 65 million euros. It was higher than what I predicted as I expected a fee of around 45-50 million euros. Napoli has not agreed to pay the fee yet as they are working on a suitable way to make the total package of the deal okay for both parties, so I would say Napoli will want to pay 45 million euros, plus 5 million euros in add-ons, which will bring the total to 50 million euros. It all depends on how they will try to convince Liverpool to accept the proposal they are preparing for the club-to-club talks over Darwin Nunez.
Liverpool are one team when it comes to doing business they are one of the best. I am sure that whatever they accept from Napoli will benefit the club. They were able to pull 30 million euros, plus 5 million euros add-ons for Jarell Quansah's deal with Bayer Leverkusen, so I am sure they will be able to bargain a good price even if it's not up to the 60 million euros they are initially asking from Napoli. The deal is very much still open as nothing has been advanced yet on club-to-club talks, but on personal terms, it looks almost done, and we might get the green light from next week.
It will be a good new start for Darwin Nunez's career as he won't be pressured to deliver as he was pressured in Liverpool. Hopefully, the deal progresses soon and the Uruguayan can finally leave the club. There is still no concrete news on who Liverpool will sign or if they will go for a striker this summer as I believe their summer is not over yet. I am looking forward to seeing what the Reds have lined up in the coming weeks, so stay tuned for updates.
