The last summer transfer window was all about strikers as top clubs in Europe were out looking for a striker to sign ahead of the new season. Top strikers like Benjamin Sesko, Victor Osimhen, Viktor Gyökeres, Jonathan David, Hugo Ekitike and Alexander Isak all made the headlines during the summer window. Each of the players mentioned above got into a new club ahead of the new season. Although some didn't have a controversy while negotiation was going on within clubs, others were not the case, as we saw what happened with Alexander Isak with Newcastle, Victor Osimhen with Napoli and Viktor Gyökeres with Sporting CP.

It was not an easy move for Alexander Isak when he decided it was time to start a new chapter with another club. It was a tough point for the player as Newcastle United were not willing to let the Swedish striker leave last summer. Newcastle United's plan was clear, which was to give Isak a contract extension with good pay, but it was not what Isak envisioned for himself in the long run, and it got to the point that the Swedish striker decided to stop training with the Newcastle team to make his exit from the club a reality.

Liverpool, which was the club he only wanted, was waiting and ready to negotiate a high record fee for the striker, but Newcastle United refused to enter into talks with Liverpool. This issue went back and forth, which saw Isak miss the preseason tour with Newcastle United, as he didn't want to play for the club anymore, which was his decision. Now Isak missed preseason, which would have gotten him back in shape for the new season, because he was out for as long as the injury was the cause of that problem.

Alexander Isak's start in Liverpool is not what most Liverpool fans expect as he has been struggling to make his mark in the team. Arne Slot put the blame on Newcastle United as he believed they were responsible for the players' current form this season. When the Isak saga was going on, I was certain that once he joined the team, he would easily bench Hugo Ekitike, but now that is not the case, as I prefer Ekitike starting matches instead of Isak due to his present form on the pitch. Hugo Ekitike is having a good start at Liverpool, and despite the recent poor team performances, I still think he can do a lot better going forward with the team.

There is a lot of time for Alexander Isak to get his head back in the game, and I am sure that soon we will see that same energy and goalscoring genius that once played for Newcastle United spark in the Liverpool jersey. The International break is still on, and thankfully, it is the last International break till March next year. I am looking forward to seeing all the players back in action next weekend. That will be all for now. Thanks for stopping by and have a good weekend.

for 160 million the least he could have done is stay fit and done a pre season even if it was with Newcastle.

You this was a forced moved. Newcastle tried everything to frustrate the deal. Nevertheless, the entire Liverpool team is in transition. I believe next year most of our new signing will come good.

How is spurs doing btw? 🙃
