A trip to Volterra, magical medieval city. (Esp/Eng)
Volterra.
English
Good morning hivers, today I'm talking to you about another magical place in Tuscany, Volterra! Volterra is a delightful town in the municipality of Pisa, it was one of the main medieval cities and today it preserves the ancient walls, the ancient doors and the Etruscan acropolis intact. This city had a strong Etruscan influence. Getting to Volterra is simple, it took us about a couple of hours, as soon as we entered the first door we immediately fell in love with this city even though we had already been there a few years ago.

We began our walk from the walls, the walls are of Etruscan origin but they also defended the city in the Middle Ages, the city walls surround the entire city. The epic fortress was one of the safest and largest, built with a stone called bench typical of Tuscany, it stood above fields and forests and was a popular destination for traders and travellers. The main gates were Porta Diana and Porta dell'Arco, the city was very populated but today it is very depopulated because the location is not close to the main services and roads. The walls collapsed in 2014 but were promptly rebuilt. Volterra was famous for the nearby copper mines and strong trade. Today it is famous for its architecture and ancient origins.

The palace with the tower that sees only one piece in the square is one of my favorites and the square dove is located in the priors' palace, beautiful and imposing. The first ancient Tuscan town hall has a picture gallery and particular decorations inside, unfortunately we were unable to view the interior due to time constraints. Volterra has beautiful colors, brown, okra, many autumns and a tourist city and many beautiful places to visit, photos of religious artifacts, walks of commercial activities and typical products and wonderful steps. many museums, it is difficult to visit well in a few hours, you would have to stay there for at least a couple of days but we had to settle for a few hours. This is a little trip to the most beautiful places, Volterra is always beautiful to visit!

It's a pity you couldn't explore the interiors due to time constraints, but your descriptions evoke a sense of the city's rich colors and cultural offerings. Volterra's myriad museums and beautiful architecture definitely warrant a longer stay, but even in a few hours, you managed to capture its essence beautifully.
I can see why you fell in love with the place so much history and oindeed a magical feel to it
