The magical Agua Negras Lagoon | La mágica Laguna de Agua Negras 🏞
ENGLISH VERSION (click here!)
Happy Saturday, dear travelers!
My second day in Boconó began with a beautiful view from the hotel, the sun's rays reflecting off the green and striking mountains. It was a clear morning with no fog over them, with a pleasant, cool breeze that is characteristic of the Andean states of Venezuela.
After breakfast, we began our motorcycle tour on a road surrounded by mountains and vegetation, approximately 45 minutes from the Hotel Tiguani to the Laguna de Agua Negra.
When we arrived at this beautiful place, we first headed to a small pier with some hangers that led to the water. My first impression of the lagoon was that the water was indeed black, the bottom could not be seen, and there were some leaves from the surrounding trees.
Then we went to some kiosks along the road to get some coffee because I hadn't had any and I needed it to start the day off right. After the coffee, the saleswoman served us some artisanal rum-based drinks, one of which was lemon-flavored. To be honest, I don't really like this type of liquor, but it tasted incredible.
We returned to the lagoon, this time to venture into its enchanted forest. It is said that the Momoy, magical beings or creatures that take care of these beautiful landscapes and nature, live there. We didn't see any, but one thing I do know is that the trail was very muddy and full of large trees, and in this area, there was little view of the lagoon.
Until we encountered once again the magnificent and mysterious beauty of the Laguna de Aguas Negras. There were some ducks in it, but I couldn't really get a good photo of them moving in the water. Green moss covered some of the trees, giving them an unexpected touch of beauty. We didn't continue along the trail because some trees had fallen, so we decided to turn back.
Before leaving, I went to the main road while my boyfriend bought some cookies to see the landscape from another perspective, which I found incredible because it has a natural appeal that makes it unique, with some islands with small bushes that move throughout the lagoon. It was the first time I had seen this feature in one, and I think it is as magical as they say because I could see it.
It was time to head to our next destination, so I'll say goodbye for now. See you soon!

Beautiful Venezuela, it was the best country of LatinAmerica 35 years ago but a change in government (Chavez & Maduro) sent it downhill to the worst humanitarian crisis in recent times.

Even though the color of the water and the appearance is not entirely pleasant, the rest of the place is really beautiful. And the gastronomic offerings look delicious. Thank you for sharing this beautiful adventure 🙏
