Wellness in the Little Things

Staying healthy shouldn't be a complicated task. There are physical health tips that are often overlooked by many people today. Oftentimes, people only focus their attention on the big things, ignoring the little things we can do to stay healthy.

Yesterday, a friend called me about one green tea I should buy to improve my health. Another of my friends said, Nkem, let's register for a gym in one of the new openings with modern facilities. All those things are good, but while I can't afford the bigger method of keeping physical health, I can simply do these simple tips below, which I will share now.

When was the last time you took a walk to a shorter destination without taking a bike or boarding a bus? We are in a world where people are always busy pursuing money and meeting deadlines. It's all about the morning rush, and in the evening, we are tired; we want a ride home so we can go lie down and rest from the day's activities. Then during the weekends , we are also resting; that's good too... but taking a walk once in a while will help stretch those joints and keep you physically healthy.

I walk a lot , I mean a lot, not because I can't afford to pay for a ride, but because I needed to observe little exercises after sitting a lot working online. Many people only walk when they're short of funds, which ought not to be so. We need to burn those calories, and walking can see to that as well. Sometimes, I take an evening walk just to clear my head and feel refreshed in my mind; that too helps to improve my well-being .

Another important physical health tip a lot of us ignore is body stretching. Most of us work in offices; others work from home, and this requires that we sit for many hours working. Students, too, sit down for hours studying their books or receiving lectures. To make our body a bit flexible , stretching it out before standing up is a good exercise. Something we should do to avoid neck stiffening and back pains.

What about waking up from the bed and jumping out immediately? It once caused me dizziness from nowhere. I no longer jump out from my bed upon hearing my alarm but rather wake up, observe some stretching all through my toes, fingers , shoulders, and my entire body , and then allow proper blood inflow .

I think this is a simple practice you shouldn't ignore if you are just learning about it. There are other simple physical health tips that people ignore, but yet they are effective. If you want to read more of these, then check out this Hive Naija prompt to participate and read other people's entries.

Overall, improving our health sometimes doesn't require so much sacrifice and even cash. Observing some of these simple steps consistently can be a game changer.

I now make walking part of me because it helps a lot to gain healthy body. I actually like where I am living. It force one to walk like 10-15 minutes down the road before you see bike or ride and that's something I feel is an advantage for me. Walking, stretching and those little exercises help a lot.

I also walk a lot and it's a regular thing for me. I think because of regular walk my fitness can be maintained easily even if I don't do any exercise.

And it's not good to stand up immediately after waking up from sleep.

walking does help to maintain and even improve well being, but a lot of walk might also worsen a persons health. I've experienced the dizziness from standing up after a long session of lying down, i never knew stretching could help

I think if one isn't too strong enough , he shouldn't take a deliberate walk for a long distance
Yea ...stretching helps, as simple as it is

You just made me smile 😊 sis when you said you walk a lot. You got me there because that is how I get my exercise.

I walk distances to make sure I complete the right foot steps my smartphone records for a week. Which should be the right amount.

Thanks for sharing. Enjoy your weekend 🥰❤️
