Unique Cultures of My School Days

Campus life was a whole lot of experience for me. Just like other schools, there were many things that made mine attractive, to the point that no visitor came without having something to remember my campus for.

I graduated in 2013, such a long time ago, and back then, I wasn't much of a camera person. It would have made sense that I show you around my school through original images I took back then and the things that made it unique, but then, bear with me, I have none with me currently , but trust me to explain in a way that you imagine what it looked like, hehehe.

Firstly, I did my university in the school of dental technology and therapy, Enugu. It was a portable school, not too populated since it offered only two courses back then, unlike now that it has expanded a lot. The environment is so beautiful. You will always see gardeners trimming the flowers and watering the flowers and the cleaners tidying up the environment. I can say cleanliness is one culture I love a lot about my school.

Both the hostel and the lecture hall, must be cleaned, and I cherished such culture, unique, right? Who doesn't love a neat environs lol?

You don't need to search for where you and your visitors will sit because everywhere is decorated with seat-outs. Even most of us that love group studies always use the seat-outs where we can kiss the fresh breeze and help the knowledge get assimilated better, hehehe.

There is something unique about my school regarding academics. Of course my school advocates for excellence, and since it's a medical school, awards are usually given to the best students in practicals every session. It's not all about what you know theoretically but what you can do when you face patients in real life. It's usually a massive award day celebrated in the school hall involving all the students and invited guests. This encourages others to sit up and embrace their practicals. I think I love this culture. Soooo unique.

Although we focus more on academics, we are not left out of social events. Each year, there is Miss & master Dental to celebrate; there, you have beautiful ladies and handsome men contesting for Master Dental and Miss Dental. It's usually a fun-filled night. Cultural day is not left out; oh…what a festival, usually filled with many activities to embrace our culture. Again, there is always a football fiesta between dental technology students and therapy students. You wouldn't find me wanting at all 😃. There is no dull moment in my school; I missed those days, honestly.

Finally, the love garden...wow...just wow…

Who will pass through dental school and forget all the dramas that happen in our love garden? It's a place where Romeo and Juliet meet together and bond and then do life after school. Fun fact: lots of my schoolmates got married after school, and their love began in the school love garden. Something that began like a joke turned into real life. Two couples from my class of 2013 and one other couple from a class before us; fortunately, they are all doing well in their marriages, from what we see in our alumni meetings.

Overall, there were lots of unique activities that make my school attractive , and those memories shared above are quite unforgettable.

@beckyroyal, @babygirl888, and @empressjay, you guys should come and write too.

Education is more than classrooms—it’s about culture, environment, and activities that shape both knowledge and character

Master and miss dental??? I'm very sure you attained that title as well during your time. That's quite motivating to all students mostly the upcoming ones.

Your uni literally has it all, from the practicals, title recognition, football up to cultural festivities 😍.
And the love garden even makes it more intriguing. So your uni were not just producing professionals but also future families 😂
