The Assumption That Shaped Me
It's common for us humans to assume a lot about others. Some of these assumptions sometimes are wrong, while some are accurate. In this prompt I will share with you what people think they know about me as a student back then. Maybe it's a wrong or right assumption? You will get to know soon as you read further...

Back then as a university student, there were these strong assumptions about me that "everything academically came to me so easily". Naturally my family is blessed with intelligence, but right from my primary school, I felt I was left out with this natural blessing in my family.
This is because I work so hard to earn my mark, unlike the rest of the members of my family, including most of my extended family, who don't need to stress themselves to excel in school.
My extended family is popularly known as a highly educated family, as there are doctors, lawyers, bankers, and other known medical practitioners amongst us. Unfortunately, I see myself working so hard to follow suit. I never wanted to be left out in the boat or be the odd one among the rest of the members of the family. I didn't want my weak side academically to show for any reason, and that's why I buckled up throughout my stay at the university to the point that if not for a 0.5 mark, I would have graduated with first class.
I would say this assumption about me pushed me to work harder, and that's on the positive side. That's why I was always in the library even during break time when I should be having fun with my friends, although I still created time for fun to ensure I had a more balanced school life while I achieved my goal.

Nothing was so easy to me in school then as assumed by many. Nothing came naturally as such, but the challenge made me understand that whatever we set our minds to achieve, it's achievable.
Good enough, the lifestyle of working hard steadily became part of me even after I graduated from the university. It's a win-win.

Wow, your family must be very brilliant. Same with me, if not for 0.4 I would have been a first class student. Well done
Wow..you was on fire back then oo
Keep the ball rolling. 😃🎊
The zeal to do better when we see our family members doing great is always pushy and we’d work so hard to attain that level, too. Indeed, nothing we set our minds on that we won’t achieve.
That's correct ...u will be forced by force oo...who want to be tagged "the dull one"..lol
Definitely not nkem ..lol
hard work definitely pays off even much more than just talent, there is no extend one cant go when the mind is made-up and determined.
The mind is powerful tool for success 👌🔥
This is beautiful ❤️ ❤️ ❤️.
I love the way you used your journey in explaining this, it shows how people's assumptions of us can help push us in the right path. And of a truth l, nothing comes easy.
Thanks for sharing.
