Practical Ways I Deal With Heat Season Discomfort

If only I had control over the weather, then I would have reduced the intensity of heat during the hot season (summer) in my country. Unfortunately, I can't control nature but find a way to cope during the hot season; after all, there is a time and season for everything.

Surviving the heat season is not always funny; it can be quite uncomfortable, but since it's usually a temporary phase, it gives me hope that this too shall pass. lol

So during the heat season, one way I control it is by immersing myself in the pool with my kids. Good enough. The gate fee in many swimming pools around me is just a token, and in some places, kids are allowed to swim free of charge, so taking a stroll to the pool more often has been my life saver, a cool way to control the heat and feel alright.

Again, the scorching sun and the hot weather make it easier for one to feel dehydrated and thus feel more heat within the body. In this case, staying hydrated is a goal. I am the type that doesn't encourage drinking cold water because I learned it's not too good for the body system when taken more often, but during the hot weather, taking cold water looks irresistible to me if I should be sincere. It has a way of calming my nerves, and I feel cooler within me.

Another way I deal with the heat is being deliberate about my wears. My wardrobe is designed in a way that thick clothes have their separate position for cold weather, while lighter clothes have theirs for hot season. The same thing is applicable to my kids wear. No matter how much they love a particular dress, I make sure it suits the hot season; otherwise, it's a no-no. The hot season can be quite uncomfortable and comes with heat rashes, and it itches a lot, so there is no point looking for a fancy dress to add to the heat intensity.

Staying outdoors mostly is another hack to control the heat during the summer. Most of the things I do indoors, I will simply choose to do outside in order to receive fresh air and feel better.

I don't want to remember how sweating profusely usually disorganize my activities. I sweat a lot. This day, the weather is calm over here , but soon, we will embrace the hot season and heat will set in; however, staying outside with lighter clothes can help to some extent.

At least 3 times daily, I take a cold bath, a very long one in the shower, and it does control the heat. Keeping my fashion sense simple and nice helps me too.

Again, I ensure my home is well ventilated to avoid finding it hard to sleep at night due to heat. You can try that; even without AC, these steps actually help me to deal with the heat during the summer.

Thank God I don't have to experience heat again as long as I am in my house 😂😂 if heat comes, I will just put on my solar fan. I can't remember the last time I sweated except for last Saturday when I went to visit a friend. Omo. I was surprised to see me sweating and it made me remember the good old days without solar 🤣🤣🤣

If I had the power to control the brightness of the sun, I would love to reduce the brightness as well as the heat of the sun because I feel terrible when the sun tortures me with heat. I think all of us have almost similar techniques to cope up with such a situation.

This is indeed a great trick. I love this idea!!

Urgh, I can't stand the heat actually. Maybe it's my English blood, but I literally get nose bleeds if the temperature goes anything above 40. Also, as a larger lady, the between the thighs heat rash is an absolute killer! I learned a trick though. Apply roll-on deodorant to that area when you're getting dressed in the morning (when it's cooler). It stops the skin from sticking and rubbing together which is a massive relief! How lovely it is to swim with the kids! I wish we had our own pool! Hopefully soon!
