Memories Fade, But My People Matter - LOH #242
This prompt is testing my emotional choice. I took a closer look at the question and was so skeptical of what to choose. Today is Thursday already, and if I should be sincere, I will confess that since Sunday when I saw the prompt question, I have been thinking about which to choose, hehehe. Okay, take a look at the question so we can be on the same page.
A mystical and powerful being offers you the chance to reincarnate, but you must choose between two options: the first is to keep the memories of your past life but without meeting the same people again. The second option is to forget everything but find the same people around you reincarnated just like you. Which would you choose, and why?
Initially, I wanted to choose option one, and the reason is because, in the last 36 years of my existence on earth, I have made beautiful memories. I have made a lot of mistakes too in the past with life lessons that can help me scale through life and be better without repeating the same mistakes. The memories of my past are too precious to forget, and also, the people I know now helped me create those memories. You see, it's a difficult choice because how can I lose these people that have journeyed with me in life to create those beautiful memories? Won't I feel empty? What are the memories without my amazing people in the picture? People are everything to me.
To be sincere, I was exposed to what love truly means again two days ago when I celebrated my birthday simply because of the beautiful people God blessed me with. I felt loved, and I felt valued and appreciated for even little things I have done for each other in the past. The people in my life currently have made my living in this earth worth it, and I can't trade them for gold. So, I am not going to lose these precious people over the nice memories I have made so far. Yeah, option 2, it is...
I would rather prefer to lose my memories and keep my people. You know why? Because with the nice people around me, we can begin afresh and create beautiful memories again as long as God keeps us alive. There will still be time to enjoy adventurous life just like what we had in the past. Remember, they are my people, so definitely, the bond will still be there. We might even create a stronger bond and make more beautiful memories together.
Again, don't you think that connection is far stronger than memories? When you are genuinely connected with people, creating fresh memories is simple. I love my old circles; I love the way we tag along. I am still open to connecting with new people but definitely not to losing my old people. The love, the trust, the care, the empathy, and much more from my circles are good enough to create something fresh and amazing going forward, so let me reincarnate with my old people.

Indeed what are the use of memories if they are not with you. You can create many memories if they stay beside you and stay connected with you and it's better option in my opinion.

Well the thing with connection is that it goes beyond what the mind holds. It’s more like a feeling and from all you’ve said, I’m certain that once it’s genuine, surely the soul will know even if the mind forgets.
