Learning Through Motherhood: My Story as a Mom of Three

It's been an interesting journey being a mom , I must say, considering my experiences so far as a mom of three. Each of my kids' pregnancies and nursing them teaches me entirely new and different things. Each of their behaviors as it unfolds are completely different and unique, and permit me to say that I have been learning from these kids regardless of their age. If I follow the way I love newborns and neglect my health, I will keep giving birth all the time, hehehe.

Before I became a mom, I desired to have 2 boys and a girl—that's three kids in total—but then, God gave me three boys, and all of them were through cesarean section (CS). I am the only one who can explain what I went through in all of these surgeries; even my husband cannot explain it better no matter how he claims to know. Currently, I am still the only one that understands my body, and how I feel sometimes in my C-section area. I can't explain it better to anyone, but sometimes I just feel unusual. I have gone back to my gyno to complain, and I received medical advice on what to look out for.

Every woman is never the same. Some can go for CS 4 to 5 times and are still sound health-wise; others may not. I did 3 CS and felt very unusual most times. Now, I loved having a baby girl, but I didn't have one, but it's not my problem, because whatever God gives me is the best. I visited my twin brother and took these pictures with her daughter. I love his baby girl a lot. We look alike, right?

It's surprising the level of pressure I have been receiving from people over giving birth to my look-alike baby girl. The truth is that I would have loved to have a baby girl, but my health says otherwise for now in terms of going in for another birth, but sincerely, I am just okay with my three boys and striving to nurture them to be responsible children in the society. The pressure so far is just unnecessary; no one can advise me better than myself.

In my place, if you marry without a boy child, people will see you like you have no child. This is a story for another day. However, humans will always be humans, but I owe no one an explanation for their many whys; it's my life and my choice. Maybe I will have a baby girl in the future, or maybe not. Children are a free gift from God; their genders don't matter, and there's no need to give in to any manner of pressures, either from friends or family, unless you feel it's something you can do. After all, none of these external voices will be there to train these kids for you.

Overall, in the course of my motherhood journey, I have learned to study myself and know when to take certain decisions without listening to many voices.

Images are mine.

Like you said, humans will always be human and would never be satisfied. Your body, your choice and your decision. Do what works for you and not to please others.

Please continue being you and loving you because no one understands you like you do.

Pressure is bound to occur in everything but like you said, no one knows except you what you pass through each time.

Ceaserean section no be small thing o. I might not have experienced it but the reality is that it hurts being under a knife. Your boys are your strength as a mother and gender doesn't matter.

Cheers🥂

Yea .gender doesn't matter , and so no need accepting those pressures but rather accept myself wholeheartedly.

this hit me when you mentioned the three CS and that lingering unusual feeling. I admire how you listen to your body, you set your own pace. The pressure from people are loud but they won't be there paying hospital bills or school fees :) Choosing your health over noise isn't easy, and your calm focus is something I respect.

Love that. Guarding your psace and tuning out teh noise is a real skill. I see it like budgeting energy the way I budget money, so you dont overspend on stress :) What’s one small thing you do when the noise tries to creep back in?

It's very true that people are different, and when it comes to raising children, you have to be aware because there are no recipes, and everyday life teaches us how to be mothers.

3 times is not a matter of joke. You must have gone through a lot of things not only physically buy mentally also. It's indeed hard to imagine for a male as they never experience such a situation.
Having a baby girl means indeed a blessings of god. I feel lucky to have a sister.
