Finding Strength in Sisterhood

So I went for a women's retreat yesterday, and the many hours I spent with my fellow women were worth it indeed.

Initially, I never wanted to register with the women's organization in our church simply because I never wanted to buy a tying wrapper...lol.It makes me feel like a grandma instead of the young mom I am, so I thought.

But then, the time I finally decided to join the women's organization, hubby bought the women's uniform for me, which is the wrapper and blouse below, and lo and behold, I received many compliments about how beautiful I look with the wrapper.

Meanwhile, the woman beside me came close to inquire how much I bought my own uniform for. I was trying to explain to her the seven rivers I crossed before getting the uniform when my friend snapped me unaware, lol.

That's not the purpose of this post anyway, but rather to tell you how much of a positive impact this women's organization I joined has made in my life so far. I think women are known for many great attributes, aside from the fact that we easily have misunderstandings with each other, jealousy, and the like, but if you can avoid those negative dramas, you will learn the many positive aspects of identifying with your fellow women.

So far since I joined, it's been from one teaching to another, from one skill acquisition to another, from one workshop to another; all these are gradually shaping my life for good. I felt what they do was only to have meetings that last for hours, disagree, shout at one another , contribute money, and dismiss, but coming closer, it's been of much greater impact than what I envisioned from afar.

So yesterday we learned about embracing different seasons in women's lives and fighting it through action, our character, and prayers as well. We touched different seasons in women's lives, like the season of financial constraints, health challenges in the lives of children, death of loved ones, infidelity on the part of our husbands, paganism, etc.

We discussed through many experiences on how best to tackle these seasons and, overall, trust God to come through for us. We also looked at a spiritual talk titled "Women of Virtue-Embracing God's plan" and the whole exposition was amazing.

Overall, it was a day well spent, and I never regretted joining this women's organization but rather encouraged a friend of mine who has been running away to come closer and see the treasure I have grabbed. To survive this life better, knowledge shouldn't be enough for anyone; every day is an opportunity to learn new things.

Few months ago, you were running away as well 😂 but now, you've seen for yourself that there is more to it all than meets the eyes.
When a group of similar minds come together, there is a whole lot to gain and I can see that's the case with the women organisation too 🥰.
