Build, Earn, Connect: The Hive Advantage
Recently, the number of folks who have been chasing likes and followers on Facebook has increased, all in the quest to get monetized. There is no kind of content I have not seen in the past few weeks. Most of this content are clearly lies and fake info, but whatever, to cause traffic and attract more followers, some of these folks do it with desperation.
One of my friends pursuing this same monetization on Facebook complained about too many tasks Mark Zuckerberg kept releasing to her before her account would be considered, and she said, "Nkem, I am fed up! Like, how can I meet up with this heavy demand? When will I finally get monetized? I have spent lots of data and energy, but yet, nothing to show for it." Trust my response to her: "Divert your energy on Hive and spot the difference!"
On Hive, you can earn some cents by publishing your posts daily, or even better, simply by commenting on some authors posts. I know not all authors upvote comments, but a lot of us do. Personally, I do not withhold my votes on people that engage on my posts. "Except when my VP is low", I will just skip voting and reply only, even though I do not have a large vote value yet, but it's still something. What I am saying in essence is that Hive offers us a nice opportunity to earn, a better opportunity to use our data and brain and earn from it instead of scrolling through reels without something to show for it, but rather enriching others.
The best part of Hive, unlike Web 2 platforms, is that you don't need followers, nor do you need subscribers to do any of that. From day one you joined Hive, you can start earning no matter how small, and gradually you grow your account, "especially when you stick with original content only and stay committed". Of course, no one goes around to pick up money on the street of Hive; your effort is needed to earn you little cents. It's simple: that same energy people burn on Web 2 without earning can make a difference on Hive.
On Web 2 platforms like the ones we use every day, you make a post, and you like people's posts and make a comment under people's posts, but the question is, who makes the money? The platform's owners do! unless you have big subscribers or followers, but if you don't have any, like me, then it will be a journey of years with plenty of hard work before you can start earning over there. And remember, they control everything because it's a centralized platform ; that's complete censorship. They also control the rewards; they detect who gets rewards or not. You see hustlers working hard for them and still lamenting on not being monetized even after getting the whole criteria.
It's really surprising how people take their decision, but I would rather choose to work with a platform that rewards my effort little by little rather than wait for years for something I am not sure of the outcome later . I think a lot of people prefer where they will get rich quick instead of a place to grow gradually, and that's why getting scammed is so rampant in our world today.
Hive blockchain is a true web3 decentralized platform. You own your content, your data, and most importantly, you earn rewards from every interaction and post you make every day, no matter how little it is.
Being on Hive is one of the best decisions I made since almost 4 years ago and still counting. I have seen projects built through Hive. My life changed a lot through Hive, and I have connected with lots of people across the globe through the same Hive, adding more knowledge to myself and growing gradually.
I don't know who needs to hear all these, but I am sure going to promote this post on Web 2. Hopefully, it reaches the right audience.

I was talking to someone I introduced to Hive a few days ago on all the benefits Hive offers, but she told me chatgpt told her medium is better than hive, apparently she's looking for a place to make quick money. I know at first hive can be really stressful but with effort and consistency one will definitely see change later.

Anyway, thank you for prompting me to investigate the claim. It really goes to show how this type of comparison absolutely depends on the values of the person who is asking.
I'd summarise by saying that Medium is OK for people who want to continue with the world of Web2. But for those of us who want more, Hive is definitely a better choice. Especially since we get paid for learning how it works.

As far as I'm concerned, only lazy creators prefer to chase monetization on Facebook, to actually building something on Hive. The level of plagiarism on that platform is just insane. Nothing is safe, everything gets stolen! People want all that money, but they'd rather copy and paste from actual creators than put their minds to work and write. Only a few actually post original content there, and many of them complain about how small Zuckerberg's money is.
Not everyone is ready for the responsibility and accountability that comes with Hive. Which is why not many of them last after their first few months on the blockchain. Because they'll find that to actually build something that matters, it takes serious time.
