About my day yesterday: Sporty Saturday
It's been a while since I did sports. So yesterday morning, I went for parents sports activities at my son's school. The school is organizing her biannual inter-house competition, and there's a plan for parents to participate actively aside from the loads of sports activities that the students will partake in. Trust me not to always miss out on any event that concerns my kids school.
I got the invite from the parent forum and marked my calendar immediately. What an opportunity to do some exercise, which I have been reluctant to do on my own. Immediately after I arrived at the school yesterday, the proprietor of the school smiled and said, Mrs. MBA, I know you will come 😍. She made the statement because I hardly miss parents activities in the school, be it PTA meetings,teacher-parentsmeetings which is referred as open day, end-of- term activities, graduation, and what have you, I usually get involved.
Yesterday was PARENTS' MARCH PASS REHEARSAL, and this coming Saturday, February 24th, is the main event. Parents were encouraged to participate and support their children, as our presence and enthusiasm would make the event memorable for everyone involved. It's usually a fun-filled event, not just for our kids but for parents too. The last two years were the first time the school held an inter-house sports competition, and the experience seems like they have been doing so since the school started six years ago. I will do well to update you guys on how the event went because it's going to be a competition between mummies and daddies of the school from the parents aspect of the event.
Aside from the march pass we rehearsed yesterday, other side attractions include the Parents Race, Tug of War, etc. It will interest you to know that mommies won the daddies in the tug of war game during the last inter-house house, and I see the same thing repeating itself again this coming Saturday, haha. This is because daddies hardly show up in activities like this; they are always busy, and the few that do show up aren't enough to win the large number of mothers in the event, no matter their big muscles, hehehe.
Yesterday was fun; I was fully involved and couldn't take pictures as we were rehearsing, but hopefully I will capture the full details of the event.
The school was kind enough to offer us fruits and water after we were done rehearsing, at least to replenish the lost strength.
I am patiently looking forward to February 24, 2024, for the main event, and hopefully my kids will make me proud through their participation as well.So watch out for the full details of the event soon; it promises to be fun and entertaining.
Thanks for reading through.
Do have a blessed and beautiful Sunday.

Some parents never seem to show up at their kid’s school even which I think is bad. As for you, you’re a super mom.😅
I love how you’re involved so much in your kids life and don’t miss out on any opportunity to have fun.😅

Trust me for the update about the event
That kind of parents activity doesn't occur in our country school. From one prespective it's good and encouraging for kids also.

Oh really...since I was a child, inter house sports activities has been a great event observed on many schools till date
It's a kind of students -students competition and school to school competition. Other schools will be invited to compete with the students. The fun is always massive
I am really looking forward to the event

This looks like so much fun. And it is so good that the parents are making an effort. It helps when parents know each other as well as teachers. Gives it a true community feeling like when we were young.
I remember my sports week every year with a lot of nostalgia. I was never a good athlete. But in our school everyone had to try out and the sportsweek ended up two weeks in the third sem where studies would be a bit reduced so that the whole school can get ready for the events. Those days we did not have parents events but they all came down to watch us march, do calisthenics and dance in formation and all the track and field events. It used to happen in winter when the heat was also a bit bearable in Mumbai. Great memories :D
Looking forward to your post on the actual Sports day now. Very glad that you are sharing your children's youth with them. Stay blessed.
Wow, what a lovely memory you shared
You sure had fun during your sports days
I did as well and the fun is what I want to catch up with again this moment with my kids😊
