A Stranger, A Season, A God-Sent Angel

A lot of times, we are being reminded to be careful with strangers, play safe, and act smart so we don't fall victim. That's right about the teachings, and personally, I have been teaching my kids the same thing too, but then, there are also strangers in angel form. I call them harmless strangers, humans who see fellow humans as one, but yet, they are strangers, but you have never met them previously until you encounter them and experience their good deed.

Truth be told, some of these good-hearted strangers have inspired me on different occasions; they have indirectly taught me to be kind too, and that's why I am being sensitive with strangers, at least as an adult, sensitive to distinguish the harmless ones from the harmful ones, because indeed, I have met angels before; they are God-sent but yet strangers.

Out of these angels, God has made my path and their paths cross in some ways. I would choose to talk about this woman angel I met 8 years ago. It's surprising to see that someone who has never met you for one day will be so kind to you on one meetup, then forget about her activities for the day and make sure that you are safe and just fine. It baffled me to date, and I was in awe of how much people can be so empathetic to others—really angels in human form.

People are still good in this wicked and corrupt world. People still allow themselves to be used by God, because some angels sent by God in some ways can resist, you know.Lol

But then, about this woman, we met in public transport. I was heavily pregnant and on my way to the market to buy delivery items and baby wear and other basic needs for newborns. Due to some financial constraints then, I wasn't able to shop for all these on time, and that's why I went to the market almost at the peak of my due date. You needed to see how I was vomiting in the bus; it was intense to the point that I thought I could vomit the baby out from my mouth, lol.

The woman felt my pain and came close to me to inquire where I was heading. I told her and gave her my list, and she cleaned up all my mess and took me to a place to sit and take fresh air. After I regained my strength, she took me to a particular place where I got almost all I needed in the market concerning the delivery items. She packaged all for me and went out to look for a taxi that could take me home directly without further stress.

I was just imagining what manner of person that woman was, but obviously an angel in human form. A woman who didn't know me before, no relationship, nothing. I remember giving her some cash as a way to appreciate her, but surprisingly, she rejected it. Didn't even bother about my appreciation nor accept to give me her contact; it was strange, but yes, I really have met an angel.

Ever since then, I have always been sensitive to knowing when to step in for others in need of one assistance or the other because I felt good and relieved receiving such help from a stranger, and it makes more sense that I do the same for others. That's why I mentioned in the beginning of this article that some strangers have indirectly thought me to be kind as well.

Hello @nkemakonam89

The story in your post is heart-warming – it's a powerful reminder that even in such a difficult world, there are still “angels” among us. I would also say that we too, as humans, should help people as much as we can.
