A Skill I Discovered by Showing Up

Over the years, I have developed a couple of skills, both the ones that happened intentionally and the one that took me by surprise, and I kept being in awe of myself for how far I have gone with the skill without realizing it.

I never knew I could write up to 100 words, not to talk of writing long posts on Hive since four years ago. Writing is that skill that has changed my life for good, if I should be sincere. How did I discover it? It was simply a challenge I had to pick up after my cousin brother told me that I could. I reluctantly accepted to only be a commenter on Hive and told him I can't write long posts because I don't know what to say until it gets long. Lolz.

I used to admire my twin brother writing excellently to the point of writing a book and having it launched. I remember asking him how he learned writing, structuring his words, and the big grammar he usually includes in his write-up, but the truth is that everything is all about determination.

When I took up the challenge of writing here on Hive, especially the fact that I write and earn, I became very consistent with it, practicing it with my real-life motherhood experience by sharing my articles around always, and reading from others helped me in honing this writing skill in some ways.

To be sincere, It was something I never knew I could do; I mentioned the other time that I migrated from being an art student to a science student because I hate all those long literature write-ups. lol, yea, I never saw myself writing that much until I saw that I can even write daily if I am really available for it.

I just decided to check how many posts I have written on Hive since this year, and behold, I couldn't believe this figure, hehe.

I lost my daily streak many times, but I guess the figure above includes the snaps I made.

Overall, I am impressed by what I see myself doing with writing. Not easy to create; once a fearful writer, I now write almost daily in this space and apply the consistency I learned through writing to other aspects of my life for good.
