Real Land Utility has Arrived

For a long time land had felt stagnant as we wait patiently for Land 2.0 to be finished. Despite mini releases like 1.4 and 1.5, all players could do was farm resources, Research points, and SPS. SPS was extractable, but not very exciting because SPS can be earned by simply competing in battles. But starting with the release of Conclave Arcana, landowners could craft items related to the packs. Later craftable items for the Yaba’s Pickle event were added. Of course these events will eventually end, however these items are only meant to hold us over until Land 2.0 arrives.
Crafting these items simply requires an Aura lab on one of your plots. Aura labs can be created by donating 10,000 Research tokens. If you have an Aura Lab, currently you have the choice of crafting four different items. – Auction Marks, Fortune Tickets, Midnight potions and Wagon Kits.

These craftable items can all be kept for ones’ own use or sold to other players on the market. Most of the Aura I have farmed has been used to craft Midnight potions and Wagon Kits.
Deciding which Items to Craft
Crafting Midnight Potions is the easiest way to make money from your Aura because they do not have to be combined with any other resource to craft. These potions simply require 40 Aura each to make and then you can sell them on the market. But currently these potions give you the least return.
I have found Wagon kits to be the most profitable and in future conflicts they may become even more valuable. They were originally sold for 10,000 DEC but can now be bought on the market for cheaper.
Crafting a Wagon Kit
One Wagon Kit requires 2500 Aura, 40,000 Wood, 10,000 Stone, and 4000 Iron.
My Aura Lab produces 12.58 Aura per hour
24 X 12.58 ~ 302 Aura per day
2500 / 302 = 8.28
So about every eight days I can craft a Wagon Kit.
In 119 Lonshire, I own eight plots of Land. My Aura lab is on one of them. The other seven are producing Resources that I use to run the Aura Lab with just a little bit of surplus. These include three Quarrys producing stone, two Grain farms producing grain, one Mine producing iron, and one Logging Camp producing wood.
Since I only have a bit of surplus, I buy the 40,000 wood, 10,000 stone, and 4000 iron from the land marketplace using DEC.
Below you can see how much DEC I paid for each of the three resources:
Adding the three amounts:
1066 DEC + 1284 DEC + 1256 DEC = 3606 DEC
So I paid a total of 3606 DEC
I listed the wagon for $5.75 which is about 6805 DEC.
It sold about eight hours later. There is a 6% marketplace fee so I got 6397 DEC after fees.
6397 – 3606 = 2791 DEC in profit which is about $2.39 with DEC currently at 85% of peg.
If I could keep this up for a year, I would earn about $109. I have invested hundreds of dollars in purchasing land plots and cards to stake on land. I also rent a few cards each season to work some plots for a very small amount of money. So, I would estimate that I am making 15 – 20% return. Not bad considering that land is still a work in progress.
Conclusion
As a member of a landowners guild, Conquests of Kibandia, I am excited by progress and new things to do in land. I am looking forward to being able to craft more things over time including Land cards. Though the big payoff is hopefully when land 2.0 is released and allows for player created spell cards and the Secret of Praetoria.
