Toys Design & Render: Plastic Geometry Shapes in 3ds Max

GeometryShapesRenderDesign.jpg

Hello everyone, I'm here again with another design and render series i've been doing for the past week now. This time around, my focus was more on achieving a realistic plastic look with some geometry shapes objects. In terms of the modeling, it is the easy part, but the challenging part was to ensure that the plastic look final render was right and realistic.

The thing about rendering is that, it is not easy to know what to expect especially if you are not an expert user of that software, since, I'm still learning and getting better in my 3ds max journey, it was more about tweaking different settings, doing a test render, adjusting different parameters and continue tweaking until I was satisfied with the final result. I have a pretty good understanding on how cameras, light and colors work in real life so that is also a plus when it comes to rendering.

So far, I'm very okay with how it turned out, even though it could have been better, but i'm pretty happy with the final result. The final adjustments was done in post using photoshop just to make the colors pop and more vibrant... Nothing really much was done in photoshop except for the minor color adjustments. With that said, I think I can now comfortably say that I've been able to figure out how to achieve a somewhat realistic plastic render look in 3ds max. I will try to figure out what to do in my next one... Until then, have a great day!
