The Grid - Bitwig's modular system

▶️ Watch on 3Speak

I must thank Polarity, the lovely German chap who runs both a YouTube channel and Patreon dedicated to Bitwig, this patch is freely available from https://polarity.productions/dispenser/ by the way, so you can download it and play with it.

It looks complex, because it is in a way but after studying it for awhile and tweaking parameters, it soon becomes more obvious, honestly.

I was chatting with @steevc the other day and he pointed out Bespoke synth, which I've not tried to date.

If any of you know a thing or two about it, feel free to record a video about it and publish to this community. We welcome other people's work here, so long as it stays on topic.

I guess it's a bit like programming. You have to know what the various bits do and how they can link together. It all takes time. I do suspect you can get some weird effects if you push the parameters too far. These things need a panic button for when it gets out of hand.

It is very much that and it takes time to learn how it all works. The great thing though is that there are some key fundamentals with this system. It has 3 grids, the note grid, poly grid and FX grid - you don't need to build everything this way though, there are tonnes of instruments and patches to use straight away.

Panic buttons do exist in some synths, but not in all - always add a limiter somewhere on the signal chain or be ready to tweak the levels very quickly if the audio spikes.
